Roy Keane’s assessment.

Pickford
Coady
Tarkowski
Gordon
Gray
Iwobi

ARE PL standard.

Quicker to do it that way.

I’d go with Pickford, Gray and Iwobi.

Pickford is englands goal keeper.

Gray is talented but is inconsistent.

Iwobi is athletic, fast and has it in him to score goals.

Gordon’s name is in lights because he came through the youth.

If he was at a mid table championship team we’d have never heard of him.

I’m pushing it a bit with Gray, and Iwobi I’m commenting on things I’ve observed. But we are terrible @davek.

The question is whether we all can consider footballers premier league standard when we are in the bottom 3 of the premier league.

It’s a technicality @davek

Keane was half right and half wrong. He stated that a lot of our players weren't PL class never mind Everton class.

He's certainly right about the latter. But if he was ruling out a lot of our players as PL class then the bottom half of the league is littered with them.

TBF to Keane I think he just wanted to underline that Everton deserve better players than we have right now and he then over-egged the pudding to stretch it to say these players are not PL class.

Yes I agree with your logic. I guess the difference is the bottom halfs teams are above us and out of the relegation zone…

A league table of players, if you like.

I do, he played ok for a few months, but the last few games hes been terrible.

Along with another 6 players in the side, hes simply not good enough.

Aye, things are a bit crap to say the least. I can never “hate” a player, but I can agree for quite a long time, they have just not been good enough.

I actually like him and think he will be a good full back for us, not as good as say Coleman or Baines but he’s still a young lad getting used to the premier league and needs to put the injuries behind him, he was one of our better players before he got injured for Scotland.
I like him too, and before his first injury he was having some decent games. He's got a lot of potential. I just don't think he's particularly great yet.

Iwobi has had a drop in form. He was our key outfield player from August to the World Cup. Credit that to Frank L.
You can also ask why Lampard changed his position from where he was playing really well (left side of central midfield, whether in a 2 or a 3) to right side of midfield where isn't as effective.

Have you sent Frank your advice? He might be desperate enough to appreciate it.

If only ey.

In all seriousness, football managers and players overcomplicate things far too much.

The best ones keep things simple, they do the simple things well.

Example - Pep. We might think it's complicated, but it's really not. Have more players around the ball so if you lose it, you win it back quickly. Simple.
