How's things today @roydo
Sound mate. Slow improvement, nurses and doctors are happy, she even told me to go home when I told her that the car was making a funny noise.
Its like I said a few days back, she is now a lady in hospital, and I am certain I am not the only one with loved ones that are poorly on here. But reasonably sure her 4 heart attacks and brush with death on NYE were hopefully unique enough for @Groucho to pin this support thread.
That said, earlier today she was trying to tell me something, but struggled. So I said, "Does it begin with A?" Very slow shake of the head. "B?", Very slow shake of the head. Like ages.
Got to about L, (another shake), and I said "FFS Nik, its gonna be Zebra isnt it?" A very small smile.
Great news. Give my best to the Middle Aged Lady In Hospital xWell blow me down. Moved her to their Long Term Recovery room, (still ICU mind), today, so its official. She is Middle Aged Women in hospital now. Can take that.
She isnt well yet, and as they develop her recovery they dont know what might be unearthed, but she is awake, aware, and responsive.
And by a twist of fate, the doctor that did her CPR on NYE was there, so I could thank him properly. He admitted he didnt think she would have pulled through.
So, for now, we are ok.
Thanks again, it meant a lot, and I will show Nikki this thread when she is home.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery to your wife mate.
Hope she is home and nagging you again soon.
Bloody hell only just seen this. Glad to hear that it sounds like she's on the mend mate. Wishing her a full recovery x
Bet you've never been so happy to be nagged mate. She was effing nagging me from her bed earlier mate! Almost a row with someone who can barely speak, and is kept alive via tubes.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Nikki is back.

As a few have posted, a quick update.
Spoke today, after they did some stuff with her ventilator. Which took about an hour.
Her first words, after struggling to say anything, were, "I need a wee".
So, brain working, limbs moving, hears, speaks, and can see.
Was smiling earlier, was very pissed off with me at one point, shared a joke or 2 with her sister (at my expense) and looked bright.
Love her. She is immense.
Forza Nikki.
