Ireland v England next week. England will be looking for a response after that French mauling.
Any predictions?
Ireland seem to have lost their bottle job mentality. Ireland by a mile.

Should be a spectacle in any case.Ireland seem to have lost their bottle job mentality. Ireland by a mile.

I'm not really a rugby fan but I like the Six Nations.
Did you see 'Slammed' on the BBC? The story of the Welsh greats in the 70s?It is a really good tournament. The Southern Hemisphere wish they could do sommet similar, but the distances make travelling support pretty paltry. They do have a tournament, but its not a patch on the 6 Nations; the tradition, the ancient rivalries, the travelling support.

It relied a lot on the Lions story of the 70s too like, but what a team of superstars that was. Edwards, John, JPR, Bennett, Taylor. Unreal crop of players.
3 episodes mate:I did not mate. I will search I Player and Netflix though. When we moved down here, mid 70's, we only got regional TV from Wales, so we could watch plenty of Welsh club rugby highlights. Unfortunately, in the process of modernisation, the thriving club scene in South Wales is largely destroyed as a functioning league now. There will never be a Pontypool Front Row again, nor Neath and Aberavon playing a touring team.
Its the same in Scotland, with all the traditional clubs being stripped of their players into Glasgow or Edinburgh or England.
Progress they call it. I am not so sure, but the coin is in the International game, so thats what calls the tune.

Slammed
Chase the win, whatever it takes. The game's biggest names - from Sir Gareth Edwards to Gareth Thomas - tell the inside stories of the greatest triumphs of Welsh rugby.www.bbc.co.uk
Mike Philips famously stole a try in a quick lineout in a close game between Wales and Ireland about 12 years ago, where the ref and the touch judge both missed the fact he wasn't using the original ball. The media furore the next day was significant.I thought I knew my rugby, but I have never seen that "original ball" law before.

Would have won the Rugby World Cup if it was around back then as well.I was working in South Wales early 70’s, married my Welsh wife and lived in the valleys. The Welsh team of that time was unbelievably good. Got to meet Gareth Edwards, Terry Cobner used to come to our rugby social club and got to drink in a crappy pub with the Pontypool front row. Imagine being able to do that today with footballers or even todays rugby lads. The side of 76 was probably the best anyone will ever see…
Oh yeah the Rugby Championship. It is relatively new as well, 1995 I think it started as the Tri Nations, while 5/6 Nations has gone on for like centuries. It is a really good tournament. The Southern Hemisphere wish they could do sommet similar, but the distances make travelling support pretty paltry. I mean, it's not my game, but even I can appreciate the skills of Barry John and of a winger like Gerald Davies.I was working in South Wales early 70’s, married my Welsh wife and lived in the valleys.
