Running

Never done one myself tbh, so can't relate. Do Park Run every other week when my brother's football doesn't conflict but than that I don't bother. The loops at Park Runs I find a touch boring, but if they're flat enough like at Widnes then I can persevere.
A mate of mine just did loops of Richmond Park in London, totalling the best part of seven hours and thirty plus miles last weekend, as part of training for an ultra marathon in October 😂

Now that is mind over matter !!!!

The Last One Standing events are brutal. You do a 6-7km loop every hour. Last one to still standing wins.

The Barclay Marathons are very similar, except there’s brutal cut offs, it’s self navigated and most years no one finishes 😂

As a regular (overweight) short distance runner trying to get up to 6 miles is really hard at the moment. I do 2 miles a day out again yesterday a regular 2 miles during my dinner break made up 2 miles without stopping. I went out Wednesday what disaster I was soaked and pelted by hail stones. What month is it?

Breaking up runs feels like cheating but is a great way to get the volume in. Overall all what matters most is time spent running so that should pay off for you.

Happened to me a few years back. Hail started coming down while I was out on a long run and I had to shelter under the overhang of a LIDL store. But generally I love running in wind and rain. I've even been drenched by large waves when running the promenade near me. Sure you'll most likely be getting a shower afterwards anyway.
