Did my first ever road race today, the Brathay Langdale Half Marathon.

I wanted to do a road race, that was as similar to a trail race, with the elevation as possible and one that was in a really remote area.

For some reason, I’ve never been to the Langdale are of the Lakes before, it’s just stunning, but with some serious climbs.

Helped by the fact that once the mist lifted it was a beautiful day.

Alright mate, but 19.10 is not a good marathon time.

Clocks go back on Sunday. That means pretty much every run from 17:00 onwards it will be pitch black. The best time of the year

Last race of the year, half marathon in the woods at the back of Betws-y-coed.

Low key charity race for Help for Heroes.

Quite tough for a forest race with the best part of 2000ft of climbing.

Is this up behind the church ? Large reservoir at the top ? Or on the opposite side of the village ?

Up behind the church, up into the forest for a couple of miles, lap the little lake at the top and back down.

I’m staying in Corwen, just had a curry and about to crack open my first beer - pretty much a perfect day and no Everton to ruin it

Actually, I was in Corwen a few weeks ago, I went into the Prince Llywelyn pub ? Honestly I thought I was gonna bump into Dick Turpin in there, the whole place stank of death no beer garden out the back, just a graveyard ffs

My first cross country of the season, Scottish North District Championship at Gordonstoun , it where we’ve run it for the past 5 years or so. I was initially on parking duty so had to check out parts of the ground with the head of security , who delighted in showing me the dorm where King Charles once resided. The 8 km , two lap race was much fun , I actually worked hard today and was 2 minutes faster than last year . The entry is 100 % Club runners , no dawdlers here , so I was 3rd last but balanced by ending up 1st V70

Had done 7.5 miles before 08:00 tomorrow, have become everything I hated haha
