For me USM is a sponsor. Moshiri is a major shareholder in them i think? But isn't moshiri a british citizen if not he's Iranian? If he is then he won't get sanctioned against. Although we all wanted usmanov to be involved with the club directly he isnt other than sponsorship (he may be behind the scenes but to the outside world that is irrelevant). These rich oligarchs have had weeks to make sure their money is safe somewhere so i would imagine that whatever assets are frozen will be minimal compared to their total wealth. The biggest way to hit them is not allow them to leave Russia give them nowhere else to live but Russia and they'll soon get sick of the Putin nonsense.

The strategy from Everton seems to be to play down the USM/Usmanov links to the club and hope it all blows over.

Hopefully Moshiri can still be used as a front for Usmanov to launder his money if it keeps us going and gets the stadium built. It might even give us more to spend who knows? Getting ridiculous on here with all the skies about to fall in posts dreaming up worst case scenarios.

In truth, the atrocities in Yemen are far worse than what has happened in Ukraine, it’s just that the Western media can’t be bothered to whip you up into a frenzy about it. It’s not considered newsworthy, mainly because westerners aren’t arsed as much, which is probably understandable because Ukraine is much closer than Yemen.
