Abramovich donating the sale of Chelsea to Ukrainian victims of war speaks volumes as to what many Russian people largely think about current events yet no one can speak out.

Usmanov isnt a murderer and Putin wont give a damn how much money he loses to sanctions quite frankly.

Unless the Russian army / the Russian population completely revolt little will stop Putin from doing whatever he wants.

No, and I'm not expecting them to speak out in public about him. But they will most likely have contact with him. Certainly usmanov is known to have close ties to him.

Putin seems to be presenting with paranoia. He will want his allies around him and the more of them he isolates, the smaller his circle becomes. The more of them that get hit, the more of them will want action and put pressure on him, or on those closest to him who might be able to get him to either change his plan, or take action against him. If that wasn't a possibility, then noone would be putting any sanctions on any of them.

Please stop taking a stance on many things as if noone else has any understanding about anything and only you do.

Your stance is what Sky News tells you though thats the problem.

Dont believe me? Read countless comments on here in recent days and in the media that Usmanov and Abramovich are monsters, Putin sycophants, enablers of war etc.

It's nonsense and us and Chelsea are paying a heavy price for it.

If you read Abramovich statement carefully mate - he says victims of the Ukrainian conflict, he didn’t say Ukrainian victims. Very careful statement covering a lot of angles.
 
Think it’s going to be pretty impossible for the Ukraine people to fend off this invasion without 1,000s of lives lost. I understand they want to defend their country but it’s a lost cause. The Russian people will eventually know the truth and maybe protest themselves in enough numbers.

Don't watch sky news. I also don't take my news from on here. And you also imply not to listen to the media. Just to clarify, if not from "the media" who should I be getting my news from?

How do you verify everything you spout? As in which media do you get your news from, or do you have contacts directly involved so what you say is more genuine.

Yet there are a small number now speaking out against the war. One has even directly addressed Putin.

Individuals unhappy with different things are one problem, a larger number unhappy with one particular situation that causes them a lot of grief is quite another. There aren't many leaders in history who have been able to stop that kind of trickle once it starts - especially not in Russia which has a regular cycle of dramatic power restructures throughout it's modern history.

If Ukraine isn't conquered very swiftly it's gonna be very bad news for Putin.
