"Stranded". This word is doing my nut in today. Stranded in a place you choose to go on holiday to, with warm sunshine, beaches etc. Hardly a hellhole existence to live through is it. 20,000 Brits aren't stranded over there because only about 1,500-2,000 or so would be looking to come home each day.

Seven days ago, 99% of all those on holiday were wishing they could extend their holiday rather than return home to the cold and wet British winter... a couple of days perfectly understandable delays in flights and they're whinging like stuck pigs and the media bang on and on about them being stranded.

The Politburu is probably sitting as we speak. You can take all the measures in the world but if Isis spot a security weakness and slip £50 to a baggage handler to do the dastardly deed then the Russians will chasing shadows.

I doubt it. For all the pressure that Turkey, the Saudis and the Israelis are putting on the Yanks to step away from the Russia / Iran / Assad axis, their black-clad chums keep giving Obama much better reasons to continue the dialogue and at the very least to cease giving any [Poor language removed] at all with regards to what Putin, Assad and the Iranians are up to in Syria.

As for "the Russians will be chasing shadows", that does miss the point - yes, the lone wolf / small cell inspired by IS will be hard to stop, but there are three major cities and several thousand square miles that they can safely blow the [Poor language removed] out of instead.
