He's a good player, not in the Barkley level of regard but can go far with a steady maturity.

What makes you think that?
I've not seen a lot of Ledson, but he looks a different type of midfielder to Barkley, more of a traditional central midfielder, more defensive, possibly stronger in the tackle? Some people prefer that type of player, and you need that type of player in a successful team.
Your English has improve drastically. They are different players, true. What I mean is Barkley was regarded as a higher prospect at that age, similarly to Rooney, people knew barkley was extra special since he was a kid in academy football. ledson is rated highly though, he has done very well to this point and I gather has strong leadership tendencies. He could be a good player at the top level but you can't say for definite yet.
Good point about his discipline in that tournament. It was interesting today as he was in a midfield diamond with Walsh doing the holding role instead which meant that he had far more freedom to roam forward and help with the attacks.I was impressed with how disciplined he was in that summer tournament for england, he clearly has a more expansive game then he showed and the temptation must have been to try and impress, but a 17 year old, picked as captain, stuck right to his role the entire tournament and got the job done

Walsh was at the base, Ledson and Onomah were either side and Ojo at the tip. Solanke and Armstrong were the two strikers.has he playing as acm or cmf?
and the discipline makes me smile as too many youth players are becoming overrated by trickery and pace over the past few years ..
An update - do you believe the words or the emoticon?

Thats a very good point about ebbrell mate.its a massive step up to the premier league so lets wait and see with ledson.it seems like he has the right attitude though so hopefully he'll come through. Looking forward to seeing him tomorrow.....absolutely. For those who haven't seen him don't expect something flashy, he's like a seasoned professional at 17 years of age. He's still got to step up a level but he does appear to have the right attitude.
Managing expectation, John Ebbrell captained England at various youth levels. Ebbrell came through but didn't quite hit the heights. I suspect, though, that Ledson is ideally suited to the modern game. @LinekersLegs suggests his mentor is McCarthy and from what I've been told that fella is an ultimate professional. The signs are good.
