Would love to see the lad loaned out to a Championship side for a full year like Lundstram to Blackpool and Coleman before him. He's not challenging Barry or McCarthy or Besic for a place yet, so let him get a complete year of first team football. Barry has a few top years left and McCarthy's hamstring worries me, so there might be opportunity for he and Lundstram in a year or two.

To be that solid as a 17 year old debutant is highly impressive. Lots of hard work to go, but potentially the sky is the limit.

I think people expect Rooney-esque peformances whenever 'the next big thing' out of our academy is dropped onto the pitch, the lad is a 'MAN' as fox calls him, he strolled around that pitch last night like he owned it, its amazing to think at 17.

I was watching Red Dwarf and collecting panini stickers at 17.

Lundstram won't make it. He's technically good but lacks drive and confidence.

Frankly I'm fairly surprised people are suggesting he goes out on loan. All for experience with players around his age but Ledson's one of the few like Rooney (and Barkley if he hadn't had his development stunted with injury) who will have the natural ability to just go into the first team when he's ready. Yesterday he looked to me certainly in the second half like he's been playing in the premier league for years, so composed. Really excited about this lad, mature beyond his years. After yesterday I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of him when the fixtures get congested, with an example being when we may have a last 16 leg, Leicester at home, the return leg then Arsenal away in the space of potentially 10 days, I'm confident he'd be perfectly capable of slotting into midfield in the Leicester game. He's a calming influence and I can't wait until he gets a run in the team in the next few seasons.

Also, I love how typically Everton this thread has become with some people completely writing him off, was brilliant for a 17 year old yesterday.

The boy is an absolute diamond.
Disciplined.
Solid range of passing.
Leadership.
Vision.
Awareness.

He is just 17.

This guy can lead us for many a year.
Will bypass loan football. Too mature for it.

He is ready to step up. Testament to his upbringing and ability.

Captained every squad ever been part of. Will no doubt captain this great club.

Possibly, but would be silly to rush him. The lads got loads of time and, at 17, we don't want to put too much weight on his shoulders!!

He is much too young to be sent out on loan. For the next couple of seasons he will continue his education at Finch Farm while playing for the under 21s and slowly being introduced to the first team.

Lundstram is, according to Blackpooo fans, stinking the gaff out at a team bottom of the Championship. I highly doubt he'll be with us after this season never mind getting a first team chance at some point.

Yeah can't see him going out on loan tbh. Well not a long loan anyway! Maybe might mirror what barkley did (Wednesday) ie short term loan deal if there's no opurtunity's of getting him in the team

sooner he stayed for another year at least before even thinking of a loan, at 17 he has a few years left of learning the ropes and imposing himself on the game, like Kenny he does most thinks right on the pitch so it a solid start to build on.
