Yeah, I find myself a bit confused by the view Lampard is particularly intelligent or articulate.I don't find "we weren't clinical" to be particularly articulate myself
That goes for any manager though. The club need to let a manager actually buy players he wants for once. I’d rather give that opportunity to Lampard who has a record of buying good hound players vs someone like Dyche who will just fill the squad with more relegation level players with no long term upside.Problem is we can back him with players, but if they are rubbish it just lands us with deadwood
He had his chance to shape his squad even with a l limited budget. To start season with only 2 strikers one of whom was constantly unfit was a huge huge error. A team can improve at the back with resilience and experience but to reward that effort they need a strikeforce that can turn tight games into wins. Everton have failed to do that by thinking Gordon and Gray would provide goals from wide or midfield. It is naive at best. Teams around us are investing and improving. We will finish bottom if he remains then walk off into the sunset with everybody outside Everton remembering what a great player he was for Chavski.Problem is we can back him with players, but if they are rubbish it just lands us with deadwood
In expect nothing at all outside of that. THAT is my point. They’ve gone hiding, what did you expect ?
In expect nothing at all outside of that. THAT is my point.
The protests have effectively sidelined them because they'll know that if they get shut of FL it'll be seen as cowards getting rid of a manager who's faced up to the ire of fans when they ran scared.
This is a protest that should have taken place well before now.
If I'm a fan of other club's at the bottom I;m counting Everton as dead in the water right now.
We've seen an act of self harm in the last week or so.
The thing is, when we go long the ball doesn't stick and comes back at us most of the time, if we are to go for route one stuff we need a good target man and I don't think Moshiri has the desire to test the profit and loss regs, or to finance a big money signing and we would be talking 20 mill plus to get a target man good enough to play as isolated a roll as he would have to in our team. The other problem, of course, is our famous defence, we had a run earlier in the season when we rode our luck but didn't concede too many, but, we never looked a solid defence. We are now back to the point where every time our opponents get possession in our half they look like scoring.Fair enough mate, but we are passing around too much and slowing down the build up allowing the opponent to form a solid defensive shape most of the time.
It is extremely difficult to break down any defensive shape with our limited players. It is self inflicted in many ways. It’s down to the manager.
