I've seen far worse teams stay up from much more precarious positions so this is nonsense.

Fulham under Hodgson were about 9 points rooted to the bottom and stayed up.

Palace under allardyce, Sunderland under allardyce. Both were worse than what we have now.

I love having an articulate intelligent man at the helm for once - I really want Frank to succeed. But its just not working is it, not with this squad. He needs better players.

He has great soft skills and communicates in a way you want from an Everton figure head. Problem is he doesn't set the team up very well, or, more importantly, react well to what is going on in front of him.

I hoped with his vast backroom staff there would be someone providing that guidance (Clements?). But clearly not.
