Sack race 23/24 season

The longer Lopetegui stayed in change the better for us, I felt.

Never known a more bizarre appointment in my life. Turned them down on multiple occasions over transfer budgets, the owner or chairman more or less told him a pack of lies regarding an improvement, told him like a month after he accepted that the budget wasn’t going to be there and ever since he’s been trying to get himself sacked.

Can’t believe he’s managed to actually last this long to be honest, he’s directed so many digs at the ownership, said he doesn’t want to be there, yet 3-4 days before season starts they finally sack him with next to no time for the new manager to get anyone in.

Wolves owners either don’t want to or can’t spend money. Feels a bit like us not bringing Dyche in til too late in January to make signings. Then just hope there are 3 teams worse than you.

They’re FFP just like us.

But they knew they were, changed the goalposts knowing they couldn’t spend, then Lopetegui has just realised he’s due a good pay off for not getting the whole story.

Their chairman seems to have lost the plot. Reallt surprised they have done it only having interviewed O’Neill, a fairly inexperienced coach, who admittedly did well last season, but still a massive gamble.

Proper three-manager Watford season, you reckon?

That should help us

Luton
Sheff
Wolves?

Coyb
I would certainly put Bournemouth, Us, Burnley, Notts Forest also West Ham ande Palace with the old man in charge, loads of options for teams to go down this season, like 7 or 8 gash teams.

Read online that fosun are something like $36B in debt.

That’s some loss that.

Jesus if that’s correct. Know a lot of the Chinese markets struggled for a little bit but didn’t think it would be that bad.

I know wolves are hampered by FFP, they’ve done nearly as bad as us if not worse in terms of money recouped.

Moutinho, Traore, Patricio, Jimenez, Cutrone all gone for minimal or no fee.

Fabio Silva, Nelson Semedo etc just rotting and wasting a wage. They’re a mess.

Wasn't really aware of their troubles but they seem to be on par or even worse than us, that's some achievement that like.

I know the manager left by 'Mutual consent' but i would hope that at least one manager has had the balls to quit on the basis that it wasn't what he signed up for and he isn't their just to take the money.

I said on the last page there about Lopetegui turned the job down on more than one occasion, due to the budget constraints.

Based on how he’s acting they’ve clearly went back with an offer they couldn’t fulfil and he’s downed tool.

Every week he was having a jab at the owners. They’ve clearly hoped he’d just accept the budget, but it’s backfired.

Timing is truly bizarre. Hopefully new manager bounce is well and truly gone by the time we play them.

They didn't sack him, they mutually agreed to terminate the contract from the sounds of it, so it means Wolves avoid a payout, which obviously they can't really afford

I mean, if you think Lopetegui is walking away without his payout, then I think you’ll find yourself to be mistaken.

No way he walks away without his cut.

They'll have paid at least part of his contract up, to avoid ending up in court for constructive dismissal a la Keegan and Newcastle.
