The lad Dixon looks interesting. If he can defend then he can play. I wouldn’t know personally as I’ve never seen him before

Pre season matters much more than people think. It's a very big part of the reason why we start the season so poorly so often.
Yeah I get they’re rusty etc but ffs they are just utter poo. That DCL miss! He couldn’t finish his dinner that lad.

I'd like Dixon to have a chance against more formidable competition as if he can rise up to the challenge , I think he could be a quality player and be involved with the first team

It was crap and a display by players who should not be anywhere near the first team. It should be about getting the first team ready for the new season. Which is fast approaching.
Yeah it was a crap display by mainly players who wont be anywhere near the first team when the season starts. Basically a fitness excercise and little else.

You want your team to be able to win without over exerting itself. It’s preseason and we are trying to avoid injury- so that same intensity won’t be there. Hell Mcneil got crocked last preseason and it screwed us for the opening games. We are still not good enough to win without ‘fitness.’ We are a high pressure team that thrives on direct play in specific moments. We still have work to do on controlling the game as we saw once we went one nil up.

The first hour (with 1st teamers/squad players) was poor, and then it went downhill on the hour. Trying to find that balance between "it's only a friendly, good run out, etc' and a realistic perspective that bar from DCL's miss, we never looked like scoring.
