My father-in-law is a Baggies fan and he said he'll be a great signing. Said that although he only got about 8 each season at WBA, he bullies defenders and creates space for other players. I remember he used to rave about him when he was there and was gutted when Newcastle activated his release clause.

For the money involved I think it's a good signing and he will want to do well for Benitez.

Mind you, he also thinks Johnstone is a terrible keeper. Says he's a good shot stopper and that's about it. Apparently costs them a goal most games!

He’s a battle ram, nothing else. He’ll deputise for DCL and be thrown on when we’re chasing a game

The balls will be long and high, but that’s what we are now.

….our strength is in the top third where we have two combative & technically good strikers. I’ve wondered for a while why we continually fail to go back to front as an option. As a striker, you live that ball but instead we play without purpose & often lose possession.

Maybe we can still bring you in as an out of contract striker Eggs, still do a job mate, never lose it ;)

He's okay. I have a feeling he'll be a helpful 8 goal-a-season player here.

You gotta wonder if Rafael has a weird surrogate father-son relationship with him though, dragging him to China is something else.
