Because five weeks ago we weren't as bad as we are now.

We were a more attractive preposition.

The board threw money at Watford for Silva and it didn't work. Dyche has a buy-out clause and would have joined us. There's almost no doubt about it. Not in the last week or so with how bad we've become, but certainly 4/5 weeks ago when really it was a case of just instilling a bit of confidence back into the squad and finding a balance.

We dallied. I'm not making it up. I know that we did. We all know.

I'm all for positive and I defend the club a lot - but in this situation (and I reiterate, not the actual appointment of Sam) - allowing it to go this far, it's disgraceful.
Tuchel was never coming as you suggested and Dyche was in the frame admittedly, but none of us know if or when he was approached. Not having a go just people get irate over stuff we don’t know ever happened. Either way though, I agree this was more than a little shabby!

No, personally I'd like to see silence. Or an empty stadium.

Anything but "support" what this club is doing. Support is to encourage the right things like genuine effort or an ambition; not what we're doing here.

The clubs been a sneaker f'Ker though mate, announcing him announcing him at the game with unsworth in charge still, be hard to not support unsworth and by proxy looks like backing this crook and the owners decision.

I think given your situation, he is the best man for the job. In a couple of years, he will take you at least to around 10th, which was more or less where you were under Martinez anyway. So I don’t really see where this takes the club backwards like posts here suggest. He may not be a fashionable name but he gets results.
Take the day off mate

We’ve made a dog’s dinner of this and the prize turkey is Kenwright with his stupid attitude. No wonder it took this long

And let’s not be so blooming precious about the football we will play. We’ve been dire for quite some time now - bar the first year of Roberto Phenomenartinez

Well, we'er stuck with him now, for better or worse, in sickness and (we can only pray) in health (at some point).
The light at the end of the tunnel is the inevitable divorce sometime in the future. In the meantime, we will have to bear his offspring of a team and cringe at the sight of big and mini Sam representing our beloved blues.
One thing to keep in mind, one faint glimmer of light, is the fact that we have had most of our success when an Englishman was in charge, and zero with a Johnny foreigner. That's the only weak positive I can scrape up from all this right now.

Genuinely wonder what the players think about this appointment.

....I think they’ll get a lift from a different training regime. I think there’ll be some who are a bit concerned that he might not fit into his team. He’s a big mate of Moyes, I reckon they have similar views on individuals. I’m sure he’s on record as not being a Ross Barkley fan. He’ll want players who conform to his way of playing.
