He was the best we could get at that specific time when we were in the bottom six & getting desperate for a replacement when Koeman got sacked & Unsworth was struggling.

He has pulled us clear of relegation & stablised our club with a couple of good signings that has strengthened our squad...

He is up for the challenge & wants the job....

He's done his 'job' now push off

' Allardyce wrong for Everton' article in Echo by John Collins says everything I want to say. I am actually glad I am 69!!! saw England win World Cup and saw some GREAT Everton sides.

I hear ya, Bro ;)

But happen a Genie pops out of the wine bottle I will be opening later tonight and offers me the choice, I well readily pick being 29 and never having witnessed those things :pint2:

Those comfortable with him staying. I guarantee we are in trouble again (I am talking bottom half)come November with him in charge. Will you be so comfortable with him then? We will be back scrambling around for another manager.

Another thing even if he stays the players know he's short term, and they are gutless in the main. Any excuse to down tools once again, if we are in a mess we might not be so lucky in terms of staying up.

A decision has to be made at the end of the season probably, whether he stays or goes...
Then fat Sam rebuilds for the future or we get a new manager in committed to a 3-5 year plan...

He rebuilds to what though? He has maybe a few years left in the game at most? Do you really want to go into all of the big games next season expecting nothing again? Not even trying? How long is he here for and with what aim? Sorry he must go. He's done all he's capable of for me that's it. He will never challenge or worry the top six even if he builds his vision, football has moved on by decades since he was at Bolton, he's a dinosaur, a firefighter no more.

No one really knows what he is capable of until he is given a chance...
He has had a good look at the squad & he will know who he wants to keep & who he wants to sell...
He will be able to buy more players in the transfer window & improve the squad...
Then we will see what he is really capable of....

Can't believe for a second time this season I'll be going to a game thinking that if we get stuffed again, at least that should make the current manager's sacking a lot more likely. The fact I think I may be able to take a positive from a defeat against Liverpool is making me feel sick.

I thought I could stomach Allardyce until the end of the season. Turns out I can't. Hate this Everton- makes me want the Neville, Moyes, Elstone, Kenwright dream team back.

He's 63 years old , he's been managing football teams for the best part of 30 years.
I would suggest that if you are still unaware of what he's capable of than you haven't really been looking.

Hint, the answer is not much.
