He should be given the opportunity....

Then we could judge...

Opportunity for what? He has a few games ahead of him, let's see what he can do. Then, regardless, boot the rotund fraud far, far away from our club. He is absolutely toxic, his reputation as a relegation avoiding manager alone means he should be nowhere near us within 5 minutes of the end of the last game of this turgid season.

We are where we are...transition.

Our team needs rebuilding so we need stability big Sam gives us this...

Five consecutive losses would constitute a bad run of form...

But I would expect between 5 & 10 points in our five remaining games...
So, five points is enough to stay on? With games against Swansea, Newcastle, Huddersfield, Southampton and West Ham? Is that a good enough return?

I`m going to be kind to you.

He was given a golden opportunity, to get rid of the reputation he`d built up over 20 yrs, as a "limited" manager.

You`d think that with twenty years as a manager and the fact that he was allegedly one of the most up to date managers in the game, re modern coaching methods and sports science, that he`d be able to coach more than the footballing equivalent of " Up and Under ".

( I strongly suspect that the myth, that he`s a progressive manager, is a myth that he`s created himself.)

The fact that after twenty years of coaching, it`s more than apparent, that he`s incapable of delivering anything other than what we`ve seen since he`s been here - footballing aids.

He can blame who he wants, as he always does, but however you dress it up, he`s blown this one last golden chance in spectacular fashion.

If showed some humility and honesty from day one, stating that the football may not be pretty, but needs must until we were safe, more would`ve been open to giving him a chance.

He hasn`t though, it`s been all about him, what a great manager he is and that he knows best.

I think he gets his “progressive “ reputation from when he played aim America he took some NFL coaching methods on board. It shows in the style his teams play I guess lol

Any chance a kind soul could link me up to where the Paul Joyce article has been posted on here? I know there’s a GOT’er somewhere with a Times subscription who will have posted it on here so us tight wads can read it.

Am I on ignore?
Did you have something key to go to, and had to log off?
Is this the full depth of your intellectual responsiveness
Are you bereft of thoughts?

.... i was just getting into it.

He may have been distracted watching Naby Keita playing tonight, for some reason some ''evertonians' seem weirdly obsessed with watching his games since January...

I want him to go because the football for the most part has been dire. However I acknowledge the good job he has done in keeping us safe and thereby providing a platform for someone to build on without the disaster of relegation. The folks making out that that wasn't a possibility are kidding themselves. Short memories - we were in a proper mess when Sam took over. His pay off will be small beans compared to the financial implications of dropping out of the pl.
This season is a disappointment but without bfs we could have been looking at an absolute disaster. Hopefully it's goodbye and good luck Sam, and ps thanks for what you did for us.

Thanks for taking £6m a year, being a fat egotistical bell and bringing a fat pissed stained kopite hobbit to our beautiful ground
