Is he THAT fat? I mean really?

63 years old, former player, massive head obviously but I wouldn't see him in the street and think "blimey, the size of him".
Not really no. I'm fatter than him and a couple of years younger too. I'm often referred to as the big man or words similar and it doesn't bother me at all. What pisses me off more is when someone you haven't seen for a while says "you're looking well" when what they really mean is 'kin hell lad you've put some beef on. Much rather they come out and say it.

Having said that I generally tend not to join in the gravy guzzling pie eating banter as I know some people can be quite sensitive to it. Not arsed about upsetting Allardyce though. he an swivel. :)

I can never work out how Martinez degenerated to the stage where most wanted him gone. A common view was the "he had lost the plot". All his self assurance vanished and he seemed to lose his grip under the pressure. He got up peoples' noses by describing poor performances as very good or even phenomenal. He was probably frustrated because he wanted his team to play like Barcelona, and we didn't possess players of that quality. Very likeable but something came adrift and it all fell apart ending for me with the humiliation of his last Anfield derby game.
We were 3-0 down in a match against Southampton (I think) and he made no substitutions whatsoever. When asked about it after the match he said he thought the players were doing alright and saw no need to sub any of them. Attitudes like that might account for the fact that most people thought he was clueless and ended up looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Never mind some people wanting him gone, some of us considered that his pedigree was such that he should never have gotten the job in the first place.

Cos he had no clue how to set up the team to defend, especially in transition. As soon as we lost the ball, the opposition looked like they were going to score every single game. Have people forgotten how bad going the game was when martinez was in charge? And then listening to comments afterwards as he described it as a phenomenal effort from the lads.

The board need to bin bfs quick before he makes things any worse. It'd be the best way to get the fan base back interested.

Once again its all down to the clubs usual gash communication.
After the Europa bumming and the saints utter hammering, if we said "Sam is here to keep us up, then we sort out the issues for next season", none of this would have happened.
If we said, "we have given him 18 months, just in case he wins the fa cup and gets us into Europe, but if he just does the minimum we ask and keep us up, he's deffo off."
Again, that would be bearable.

He's kept us up, fact, whether anyone would have done it as easily is Debatable.

If there had be clear an concise communication from the club, as to the terms and length of his tenure, it would also possibly have stopped him from behaving like he was the saviour of Everton club.

All the club had to say was, " We`ll see how it goes and review at the end of the season ".

As others have said, we`ve played into his grubby hands.

If anyone is on Twitter go to the Everton Twitter account where they are asking for shoutouts to put on the screen tonight. As you can imagine 95%of the tweets are about Allardyce

Roberto is in the Monday Night Football studio tonight. Could be interesting. Would have liked to have seen him given the chance with even half of the money Koeman had. Shame. A million times more likeable than the latest two carts and never once had us flirting with relegation either. Given money he would have done ok.
Ha ha ha....joke of the week already...and it's only Monday....not sure if serious btw

Can you honestly say that he's said anything disrespectful about the players that does'nt have some element of truth?
I'll expand on this just in case my first answer confused you.

Off the top of my head he has disrespected both Lookman and Klaassen for no reason. If I looked a bit harder I'm sure I could find a few more unwarranted swipes at individual players. But I've lost count of the number of times he has collectively blamed the players for poor performances and not once, I repeat not once, has he ever acknowledged any blame himself.

Where do you stand on these Unsworth comments. Do you think they were justified? I'm not expecting an answer by the way as I know you tend to ignore questions where you may have to criticise Allerdyce. :)

What really strikes me about the Bascombe article is how little purpose it served Allardyce other than allowing him to engage in a nasty little example of character assassination.
I appreciate they seemingly don't get on which may be the source of the poor atmosphere rumours. But as a professional surely this is something you don't sort out via the national press?
Unless it was a venal parting swipe at a victorious enemy?

Maybe trying to hasten his own dismissal? Hold his fat hand out for bulky payoff then head to Dubai until world cup punditry time.
Done his bit here and been a 'success' after all hasn't he?

“When a new manager comes in, even if he hasn’t taken a coaching session, the players go out and respond to it. They think, ‘I have got to prove that I deserve my place in the side'

It's called new manager bounce, and hate him as much as you like, but it's true....except for Pardew!

I'd believe Rooney more who said they all knew they had let Unsworth down big time and decided to pull their finger out on his last game.

Koeman was definitely a bit early I think , But he needed some direction and ideas from elsewhere
At the time I agreed with him having to go, but I assumed we had somebody lined up though. We shouldn't have sacked him until a replacement was cast iron and that is just common sense. Martinez was a bit different as that was at the end of the season.

I remember that post match interview. You could tell he was being truthful and not just bullshitting.

He said it on his Monday night football appearance as well mate and they asked him did Allardyce have any sway on that and he said they spoke to him briefly before the game and that was all.

Rooney had been dropped from Unsworth the couple of games previous but he would have even seen from the bench the players not giving a flying one during that Saints and Atalanta game. They were an absolute embarrassment, unprofessional, disrespected Everton football club and in particular made a show of Unsworth.

They made amends against West Ham results wise before the tit took over for the Huddersfield game.
