I am hoping or should i say praying that after his face to face talks with Moshiri, Everton release a statement saying that Allardyce will be leaving at the end of season by mutual consent. The thoughts of him having anything at all to do with the organising next season, summer transfers, pre season and next season makes me sick to my stomach. It is hard to drum up any interest in Everton at all while they have that virus still in charge.

Get it done Mosi, put me out of my misery, i want to get excited about Everton rebuilding after Allardyce.

He simply can't be an Evertonian, i know he's wrote book about us but the way he talks us is so negative, He said lets stop selling season tickets so we can build up our fans base and maybe fill a 45k stadium, Tried to compare us to Arsenal
Whatever he said in the pod cast or whatever he has written do not have any doubt about his alleigance to EFC. He knows more about EFC than you or I have forgotten

As highlighted in Mondays game a lot of that has to do with quality of the league you need to be really really poor to get relegated this season.
The divide seems to be growing because the teams outside the top 6 seem to be getting worse.
Burnley finishing seventh emphasise this.
Seventh or seventeenth not much in it quality wise.

Indeed.

In horse racing terms we have “stayed on past beaten horses”.

Our improvement is largely illusionary due to the utter dross below us being incapable of getting back above us when we were stinking the place out in January and into February.

We were already ninth and fear of relegation was well in the rear view mirror the day we got an Allardycesque draw home to Chelsea.

7th place was the minimum target at that point.

Heck, the way the wheels came off at Arsenal a 6th place finish would not be out of the question over these closing games.

Then we went to Baggies.

And that is where the trouble with Sam started.

So no, I do not think finishing 8th or 9th indicates that Sam has done a “stellar job” as @Nyhus suggests......to me that just shows he lacked the nous to kick on from Boxing Day.

Moshiri was at the game in Liverpool on Monday. I would have thought that if he was going to relieve him of his duties it would have been done then(of course he may have and it hasn't been made public yet).
I doubt very much that he will bring Sam all the way to London just to tell him that he is sacked.

I think that what could happen however is that Sam will be told about how the club will be run next season, what responsibilities he has and what responsibilities Brands/Walsh and new CEO have.

It may be that a certain style of play has to be developed from the academy to the senior team and Brands has ultimate say in this.
Sam may have to decide if he can work this way... and he may not.

Exactly. People getting way ahead of themselves. I doubt he'll come, and I have no doubt that Allardyce and Walsh will still be here next season.

To say you have no doubts is bizarre unless you are privy to correspondence and sit on board meetings.

All that is in my head is doubts. So many doubts. Doubts about manager, director of football, Walsh, Sam, Elstone, Bill, Moshiri, a new CEO, Brands, new players, who is being binned, are we getting the stadium for sure.. .

So many doubts.

I agree. Sam will get a large sum to spend, a number of players will rightly be sold, trimming the wage bill and the squad to about 25, and Sam will be expected to get us back to a serious challenge for 6th position, anything higher is fantasy. The new man the season after will be expected to build on that secure base.

He’s never going to work under a DOF who’s buying the players. And there is no way he quits. Maybe a mutual consent thing.

Personally I don’t think he will get the choice to decide his own future

With a group of players maybe he doesn’t want. And we start all over again wasting a year a potentially a lot of money.

Brands is the key for me. If he comes in, he will want to buy mainly young players. While if sam has 1 year to try and keep his job, he won’t be playing youngsters and giving them time to grow. He will want players 27 to 30. Abd this time next year we will have an expensive ageing squad.

Actually I think that would suit him down to the ground! If things go belly up next season he’d already have his perfect excuse “Well I didn’t buy the players over the summer I didn’t have a say”.
