Two wins from next three and I think we can say good bye to any relegation worries.

Who would have thought that this time two weeks ago ?

Defence first mate, he’s only been here 10 days the rest comes later.

The rest will have to come when we get rid of half those players. Stringing a few passes together should be achievable for any side but we made it look impossible today.

As I said, the tactics were fine but we were still bloody awful.

True, but getting results which we are will build confidence and give us the platform to start playing later down the line, at the moment it’s all hands on deck in defence to try and grind some results so we can’t really get up the pitch atm.

Come on mate, we are low on confidence and have no real shape at the moment and it's hard to know who to blame for the mess, so I won't. Fact is that Sam has clearly got us more organised and I would never argue that we were second best today, but to claim the pen as lucky is to mark you as a Samoaner, you need some perspective friend.

The pen was absolutely lucky. I didn't think it was one for a start. I have to confess that I enjoy when we get a dodgy decision against Liverpool because of the rage my mates have is hilarious, but I'm not a blind partisan. It's the sort of soft decisions that I despise in the game when they go against us. Had the ref not given it, I don't think I could complain too much.

Liverpool are soft as hell. What annoyed me is that we didn't try to out muscle them or rough them up a bit. It was just so lacklustre.

If you listen to his pre match conference, he is very coherent with how he is planning to apply tactics.I can imagine he's great to play for and work for.

He may call a spade a spade but I like the cut of his jib right now.

Yes I agree. If he can learn to focus on that, rather than everything else he has become to be associated with he has a real chance at Everton. What he has done to organise the team and defence in 10 days or so is fantastic.

3 weeks to identify the right players to come in and make an instant difference.

If it was 3 new players, I think everyone with eyes will know it HAS to be a LB, CB, ST

Really not sure what you expect for a side struggling for form against a side much, much better than we are. The players worked hard and aside from one moment of class, they did really well and contained them.

One thing objected to from SA today: his claim that he'd had us concede only 1 in 4 games.

That's just disrespectful to Unsworth. He's been in charge for 3 games, not 4.
I said the same in a post before mate. It's about the only thing I can pull him up on during his tenure so far. And believe me I've been looking:)

If he just made the 1 in four comment in isolation, it wouldn't have been as bad. But he made a direct comparison to the 15 conceded in the previous 4 games which, whether he meant it or not, was a direct dig at Unsy. Naughty.
