I've always thought he's a pretty loathsome character. Whats interesting with him, is you do see another side to him when he manages you. You have these moments where you are almost ashamed at his brash chip on the shoulder. There are also moments though, where he is very articulate, thoughtful and confident. Compared to a Moyes team today I never thought we'd bottle it and I don't think Allardyce thought we would either.

Probably whats stopped him stepping up has been him struggling to prevent himself crossing the line between confidence and arrogance.

He has that mentality that makes the world the enemy and the enemy are nothing to be scared of...

...what's Sin Miedo in Dudleyish?

We were absolutely gash, but we got a point.

Two ways to look at it for me. The first is that if it wasn’t for Lovren (and thank god for lovren) being the absolute show that he is, we very likely leave with nothing and Allardyce would be getting hounded out for negative tactics and at times football that was simply hoof ball. On the other hand, it could very easily be argued that his tactics meant that we were able to restrict them to only one goal (and not many more shots on target) meaning we were always within touching distance of getting something no matter how “under pressure” we were. The truth is somewhere in the middle but who’s that bothered when you get the point away from home?

It weren’t liverpools first 11 ffs stop making out like Sam is jose we got LUCKY
Regardless of that, we pretty much neutralised their attacking prowess with the style we played and it negated the level of possession they had.

If we'd came out and tried to play with our defence like it is, then they'd have picked us apart or simply bludgeoned their way into space.

I'm not heralding Sam as some form of saviour or master tactician, however today he helped engineer a result that surprised most if not all of us.

You could say luck played a part although his recent record at Analfield may also suggest that it's something he's got down to a tee.

Shame the players who played today mate didn't have this mentality (I know we got a point)

No one gave us a hope today. A draw at the pit a week ago seemed unthinkable. Two youngsters, an aging centre back and a championship standard full back being played out of position at left back he somehow cajoled into restricting Pickford very little to do. I’ll hold my hands up, I didn’t want allardyce, I don’t want to see ‘attacking’ football repeated, what we saw today. But I’ll give allardyce some slack tonight, for getting a result few of us expected. If nothing else, it makes it all the more sweeter that they dominated the game, we got a penalty at last at the pit and caused klopp to embarrass himself in front of millions.

I actually said it today mate that whilst it was still only 1 nil we were still in it, and all it would take was one chance, then we scored!

Obviously well happy with eventually getting a point, but I just think it's weird how some are saying it was a good defensive performance when in total the RS had 26 attempts at goal, embarrassingly for them, only 3 on target.

The best attacking Liverpool 11 was half benched today thanks to Klopp's arrogance. I haven't watched mane much but his finishing was muck. They were poor at finishing today rather than we were defensively good.

Again, I'm grateful for the result but this is the big Sam thread and I remain unconvinced.
Look, I get youre disappointed, i would be too.

I never felt that worried by them even though they had the ball so much and that’s such a turn around in a short space of time. Just a shame Martina was so weak when he let Salah in.

Although we weren’t adventurous I’m just glad we didn’t get battered by them and took a point from there!

I’m not the biggest fan of Allardyce as a person, but he has definitely surprised me in in how quick he sorted out our defense and in time I wouldn’t be surprised if he got us playing some decent football as well as being solid at the back.
