...he’s a fine player is Salah but I would hope Martina isn’t marking him in the Cup game. That was their chance to exploit our big weakness and Klopp took him off.

I hope it's Kenny if Coleman is back on the right mate, failing that we bring in a decent lb

Loved the interview and loved that he's riled Klippety so soon into the job. When did you last see a RS manager absolutely humiliating himself on live TV? He was so bad even the usually in thrall Sky interviewer was calling him on his BS.

I feared the worst when we went 1-0 down but it's significant that the defence doubled down on the original game plan and didn't give up as I'm so used to us buckling and giving in. A lot of possession given up but how many times, apart from a very tidy finish from Salah, did Pickford have to raise his game today? Absolutely shackled one of the best attacking sides in Europe with an unbalanced, ramshackle defence made up of a kid at RB, an out of form centre half past his best and a league 1 right back at left back.

It reminds me of an interview I read with the Palace chairman shortly after Big Sam got the job there. Allardyce said that he won't play tiki taka football if he got the job because it was entireley unsuited to the players at Palace. And furthermore he said that any interviewee who said they could turn them into Barca was talking nonsense and was either lying or didn't understand football. He knows how to work with what he's got and today was a prime example.
