sounds like the bull s**t that rawk comes out with.

Its just not a like for like comparison, is it? It sounds like a line Sam is using to push his case to stay. We wouldn't be sixth because he would have lost all of those games against the top six in our first set of fixtures, too because he admits he doesn't try to win those he tries not to get beat, he sees them as 'expected' losses' just like Moshiri seemingly does.

We didn't have the luxury of Cenk or Theo at the start of the season. Both of our full backs were out, Bolasie was out, we had too many number tens, Sigurdson wasn't match fit and players like Morgan and Williams were stinking the gaff out.

At the very best allardyce will keep us at the same position we are in now bobbling round mid table.

Apparently, 7 people actually want to watch dire negative football all next season

These are just assumptions. The fact that many fans believe them doesn't make them true. Allardyce knows the score. Everyone from Moshiri and Kenwright down will have told him that this is a club with big expectations, the aim in future seasons isn't to reach 40 points or mid-table, it's to become a club that can win trophies again. Sam's said as much himself in interviews. He knows he has to shoot higher if he wants to keep the job. And he's not going to achieve that unless he creates a team that keeps the ball better, that attacks with pace, that creates more chances. If Allardyce stays I think it's likely we will see changes in the style of play next season.

The point isn't that Allardyce is some great saviour. It's this : Martinez, Koeman and Unsworth all had to go because they were failing, they were unable to stop a downward spiral of performances and results. The case that you're making here against Allardyce is a weaker one : you're saying he's not the right man to take us forward in the future. That's not to say you're wrong, ambitious clubs do have to make big calls, maybe this is one of them. But it's all about risk, and guesswork. You can't prove how an Allardyce team would perform in the future, any more that you can prove that a so-called "top manager" would succeed at Everton.

Rooney & Jags are making a big mistake backing Allardyce. They are on the way out this summer (rightly) and so is he

Tbh, he is the manager and i’d be quite disgusted if they weren’t backing him. This lot threw the towel in on Roberto and looked to be doing the same to Koeman. I don’t want to see it from them again, regardless of who the manager is.

We got 47 points two seasons ago and finished 11th. When Martinez was sacked. The only reason we are 8th is the paucity of the league beyond the top six. Sam has done ok with a bad situation but let's not go over board, this we would have finished sixth thing isn't true. We will be 7th at best if he stays and everyone will be improving around us keeping him for another year is delaying the inevitable. We have a very small window to compete again, we need to start building towards it this summer.

Rooney wants him to stay, as he knows any new manager will try to get shut of him, despite his silly wages.

The press are loving this.

You`ve got the fans want him gone, the club are saying nothing, Allardyce winding the fans up and now senior players getting invloved.

The club need to sort this out one way or another, as it`s just getting stupid now.
Just Allardyce playing the sympathy card. Probably laughing into his beer reading all this tonight.

Rooney's comments about Allardyce are cringeworthy. Lets have a closer look at this particular one for instance:

Wayne Rooney on criticism of Sam Allardyce: “He’s thick-skinned and I’m sure he’ll keep doing what he does, but I think he’s got the full support from the team and since he’s come in, we’d be 6th in the league if that was the start of the season.”

So we would be 6th in the league if it was the start of the season then. A comment that is doing the rounds and being repeated. Lets see if it has substance.

Everton's first 7 premiership games of this season where:

Stoke, Man City, Chelsea, Spurs, Man U, Bournemouth, Burnley,

So lets have a look at our results from them 7 teams when Allardyce played them

Stoke - Won 2 - 1
Man City - Lost 3 - 1
Chelsea - Drew 0 - 0
Spurs - Lost 4 - 0
Man U - Lost 2 - 0
Bournemouth - Lost 2 - 1
Burnley - Lost 2 - 1

7 games, 1 win, 5 losses, 1 draw

That is 4 points out of the possible 21.

That my friends would have put us 20th and bottom of the table after the first 7 games of the season.

Nope, it does not have any substance whatsoever.

He’s saying if you reset the league table when Sam came in we’d be 6th which is true. But I see what you’re saying
