In this case I would rather be happy and lose 10 times out of 10.

If being right means being miserable whats the point.

I don't see how those words fit in the same sentence.

I understand those wanting a change of manager, but can never understand why anyone would want us to lose other than a one off game for an exceptional circumstance. The Man City 2013-14 game stands out as an example.

Those words from Rooney sound ominous. It's unlikely the owner is going to risk the players downing tools again under a new manager. He's a senior player and the senior players are getting their egos stroked under Allardyce with the likes of Ferguson also being boxed off.

It goes back to what I said a few weeks back:
https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/...they-need-to-go-before-we-can-prosper.103225/ to move this club forward we have to get rid of the clique of snide ageing players who control the dressing room. Baines, Jagielka, Rooney, Williams, Schneiderlin, the soon to return Mirallas and *coaches* like Ferguson, Jeffers etc need sweeping out of the club if we're to build at all.

And these players next season if/when we're struggling under Allardyce will be hiding in the treatment room and avoiding all interviews with the media as they keep their heads down.

Destroy the clique at Everton. That's what we need to see first before we place any building blocks in place.

We are an utter mess: controlled on the pitch by conservative and self-serving forces, and off the pitch by the inept and clueless

Captain! lollollollollollollol
Resident mouse then.

I like Jags on the whole but don't think he had that bit of steel or determination that bordered on being a nasty bugger that a captain needs to be a winner. It's not a crime to be fundamentally a nice guy but they don't tend to be winners.

Anyways, back to the gravy guzzling dinosaur, Big Scam! I just got back up to date with the thread. We need a manager who is prepared to take on everyone in the league and expect to win. That ain't Samosaurus. Give him his filthy lucre. He actually has earned it by doing exactly what could be expected of him. I do hope that the club has arranged to get a structure to take this club forward and reunite the fans and get us behind the new appointment.

Come on you blues. Remember our motto already.

Rooney and Bolasie aside., all players are playing better than the previous 12 months. The rot had firmly set in under Martinez and again under koeman, te players are now all playing with confidence and, bizarrely publicly backing Sam. I am not a Sam fan but, we need to acknowledge his positive impact on the team.
Pervious 12 months? You mean when we put 4 past City, 4 past Hull, 6 past Bournemouth, won 8 games in a row at home..

There's a battle for the soul of the club going on. I don't think divisive views are helpful. Unfortunately sometimes it's necessary. As supporters we know the direction the club needs to take, whether the board are interested in that, we'll see.

Lets call a spade a spade here. There isn't one club in the top six who would entertain Allardyce as a manager. The last time spurs won the league was in 62. he wouldn't come near their club and we are supposed to entertain him? No, it doesn't fly with me.

You can argue we were relegation candidates in November, fair enough. I don't agree like but once you start accepting that this club, should be grateful for 8th or what his style of management brings to the table. You're killing the heritage of our club, by proxy. And though you may be an Evertonian, that mindset will kill us, slowly but surely.

I look at it like this. Thanks Sam, you did your job but bottom line, you don't have the skill-set to get us where we belong. nothing personal, few do, that's why we worship them, turn them into deserved legends. You ain't never gonna be a Catterick or Kendall. Leave at the end of the season while there will still be goodwill towards you.

After that, this club needs some serious soul searching. Because somewhere along the way I'm starting to fail to recognize the club I've supported all my life.

Nailed it mate. ;)

Your looking at lose in the wrong context. The poster I responded to was referring to a win/win siguation. My reference to lose was in regards to being proved wrong on something, not losing a football game.

Where did I say I didn’t want it to change?
You said it makes no difference to you whether or not we remain gash. I'm saying it does make a difference to me, and I find it odd that any Everton fan would say they're not really bothered either way whether we improve or not. You might want it to change, but you're evidently not really that fussed if it doesn't. Strange in my opinion, but each to their own.

I wonder if Rooney is backing him after reading the gossip from yesterday that he maybe tossed out as well.

Your correct we need a big clear out of deadwood. But this starts at the top. If you have the right people in place it filters down through the whole club.

Moshiri now needs to step out of the shadows and take control of this club.He needs to show ruthlessness and sack Walsh Allardyce and Elstone from their current roles and put people in these roles that will work together to make the club successful.

With the stadium development, which I think will move at a faster pace this year and next, I don't think Moshiri will want to be looking over his own shoulder worrying about what is happening on the pitch i.e a relegation battle. That is why I think Allardyce will see out his contract. Going to the home games has become less and less enjoyable this season, a bit of a chore in fact even with the drive/train there and back. The West Ham game has been the only highlight for me this season. I'm resigned for much of the same next season, if, but I feel when it is confirmed Allardyce is staying.

If Sam is to leave I expect it to be announced before the final home game. If not I would be concerned that Moshiri intends to keep him.
I agree . I believed that if he was leaving it would be known by now.
I think he is definitely staying now for next season.
Some fans are unhappy with Sam , but many of those had their minds made up ever before he came and nothing will change them but if a manager was sacked every time a section of the crowd was unhappy then we would have ten managers every season. unless there is outright revolt from the fans I don't think the board will be swayed. A section of the support shouting insults at Sam while winning 2-0 is not going to change their minds.

After the mayhem with Martinez and Koeman I think Moshiri sees Sam as a safe pair of hand who has delivered what was promised. I wonder if Moshiri has ever even considered replacing Sam at all ?

I look at the previous regime as leaving a filthy, unhygenic environment.
Everton had a nasty bacterial infection that needed clearing up.
Allardyce is the antibiotic used to kill off that infection.
However an antibiotic won't clean the place up.
And you can't keep taking antibiotics.

We’ve been absolutely gash my entire Everton-supporting life so another season makes no difference to me. That’s the problem when you’re born in the 90’s, Freddie.
Try being a proper (by proper I mean old enough to attually no what’s going on) fan since 88(born in 81) and seeing 1 trophey In 30 years. We spent enough bloody years standing still, having a glass ceiling, Being “Plucky” it’s time we made a statement that we are no longer here to make up the numbers.

I’ll never ever stop wanting the best for the club, its a big part of my life and I want them to succeed, I want us to win a trophey and go back to where we once where, the fact you don’t is baffling.

This summer is the biggest summer in a long time(we say it every year) there are so many manager out there we could get that the though of Sam staying is horrendous.

How you can joke your be happy if Sam stays just so your proven right is baffling. An you want to write off an entire season cos, well I grew up in the 90s give your head a wobble

Its a massive summer for Moshiri. If he allows this to trundle along and we start next season with just a few players in and out by recycling cash and keep Allardyce and his flunkies in their posts he's done for.
