Sam really doesn't give a flying duck other than getting as many points as he can. After a few years of Trendy managers with 'footballing philosophies' where the style of play is more important than the result, it's great to see us get back to fighting for every point.

Yes we were ultra defensive, but we salvaged a point out of what could have been a massacre. We don't need to (and won't) play like that again until we face one of the top four and even then he'll mix things up to add mystery and variation. Horses for courses.

Great to see we now have a manager who can really get to Klopp and rattle the Kopites. They have been able to write us off as an easy win for far too long. I think the Cup Game against them will be a proper battle the way it should be.
This totally justifies Sam and his team for me .too often in the last 10 years we have hidden
Now we totally peed the Kloppety Krew right off ... I love it

Under Sam I an confident of us finishing top half and having a good chance of getting ourselves in to 8th or, if we have an excellent latter half of the season and the margins start going against Burnley, back up to the 7th we all thought we would be.

After a few days reflection on the result I am still well pleased we secured a point BUT can we not get carried away this is one game (albeit an important one) we have other fights ahead. I know this is unlikely to happen but I wish we wouldn't put so much emphasis and importance on the derby, it was one of the outcomes guaranteed to give Fat Sam near legendary status he doesn't yet deserve. I want stability then get shut he is dodgy and plays [Poor language removed] football but needs must - for now.

I think you're being rhetorical, but without talking to the players, how else does Sam (or anyone for that matter) find out what they're really thinking? It hardly marks him out as the next Pep, but I'd have just thought it was a common sense thing to do given the fact he's only been in the job 5 minutes. I've also no doubt he probably has a pretty good hunch but if he'd said 'I've spoken to the Tea Lady, Walshy and Big Dunc and have made my transfer plans accordingly, you'd be the first to call for his head.
Rhetorical is a bit heady for me at this hour of the day.
A simple question with no hidden motive during my lunch break.
My own opinion? If you accept that the vast majority of players these days are all for the coin, then he should have saved his breath. They will follow the mighty dollar, five minutes after pledging their future to Everton. A romantic thought that a home grown local lad living the dream wouldn't need asking could enter your mindset until Barkley enters the discussion.

..as @Nymzee says, Allardyce was asked about this in his presser and said he’d already spoken with 4 players. He said no player had knocked on his door asking for a chat.

I was amazed nobody followed that question up with ‘is Barkley one of the 4 you’ve spoken with?”
I hadn't realised it had been discussed at the presser.

Great start by Big Sam.

He has inherited a dysfunctional, low-on-confidence squad with lots of hard decisions to be made. And he has already made
progress.
Spot on and its great to have some positivity around the place, long overdue. If you look forward to the next game the manager must be doing something right.

Simeone is defo an argentine Tony Pulis.

But not going to lie, I'd be more patient with him than Pulis/allardyce/moyes and their ilk just cos he's got the trophies in his pocket and they don't.

He's won probably the hardest league to win.
La liga is almost impossible to win for any club outside the classico. They take something like 60% of the TV money. Have all the best players and the refs in pocket

For a change, I agree with every single word he’s written there.

Sorry.
I don't agree with Aldridge. As if he was gonna write an unbiased opinion of the Everton manager lol lol lol lol lol

Makes me laugh that under the header "Football Liverpool", he then dedicates his space to Everton.

Aldridge: "I'm not a fan of the man with the big ego".

Ahem....

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
