Cancelling the Xmas party is a master stroke by Sam. If players don't turn up in the next few games he will know instantly who the 'bad apples' are and then ship them out in January.

If you not gonna turn up and play because he cancelled a free piss up then I want those players as far away from this club as possible.

Well done Sam

It's not even cancelled either, he's just postponed it until that bit of January when the games thin out a bit and it's concinient.

Too much work to be done on our performances at the moment instead of pratting around with tinsel or vomiting over Bathroom attendants

i think it is good he has delayed the party. He is right the squad needs no distractions now. schedule is hectic now he needs to sue every day to his advantage. He has got off to a good start few more wins and we can start looking up.

I bet Chairmen of Stoke and Swansea and West Brom are now nervously looking through their roladex looking under S for survival specialists and obviously Sam or B for Big Sam. I think it was a good move to get him in earlier before the annual call from relegation threatened teams who now have only Pulis to call on in their quest to safeguard the big PL bucks.

Think the Christmas party cancellation is one of those things that he'll either be lauded as a genius for or castigated for, depending on the results we get from now on. It's like when a new manager bans tomato sauce and fines people for being 5 seconds late and we get loads of articles about how they're ahead of the game and the little things all add up and make a more professional outfit, and then 6 months later the same journos are saying the manager's lost the dressing room because he's a petty tyrant who's made all the players hate him because of unnecessary rules.

The only thing I would say is the January fixture list looks a bit dodgy to be promising them a party. If they were going out on the back of recent results most fans would be quite happy, but if a load of stories surface of them being out enjoying themselves after we've lost to United, Liverpool and Spurs it'll be a different story.
