I’m prepared to say I was wrong about him, I didn’t think anybody would be able to make a team out of the ramshackle band of bastards we have as players, but fair do’s he has, he has my total support now. I haven’t forgiven the players yet though

Putting my hand up .... I was really against FS as an appointment, but I have to admit he's growing on me very quickly.

He seems a top class man manager, with encouragement and criticism, we're emerging from the panic hole, people here are crying less and I'm surprised how much I like to hear a manager talking with a northern accent.

The last point I really wasn't expecting, but when was the last time . ..

Didn't want him, but didn't want any of the other contenders. He's the real Mike Bassett as far as I'm concerned. But after the Atlanta game I thought that we were fudged. Slowly warming to him. Give him twelve months to stabilise the team and then look for somebody to move us on.

You don't even care how he does in those 12 months? Wouldn't it be better to see how he does, and then decide if we should look for somebody new?

I love how he has kept faith with the younger players and isn't afraid to bring an inexperienced player on in a tight game as he knows they have ability. Also like his game management bringing Jags on late each away game this last few days to shut up shop. Simple things but they are working.
You could pretty much see Newcastle give up at that point couldn't you. The desperate lobbing the ball into the big guy in the middle tactic that was barely working before suddenly got a lot harder.

Aside from Liverpool we have played some really poor teams, let's wait and see how it goes. Best to review him after the season ends.

Newcastle are no poorer than Southampton. They’re only 3pts in front.

The 3pts they got for banging us & if we hadn’t brought Allardyce in, I suspect the last 5 games would’ve been very different.

I think we have to remember that Koeman sparked a similar turnaround last year. Sam is doing a great job right now, but a bad result or two and we're back to the drawing board re fan sentiment. We're looking stable and hard to beat. I hope and, dare I say, believe that Sam can do more and that he gets our full support

The turnaround Koeman sparked was only putting right a slump he himself had overseen, Prev.

He reprised that slump later on that season and it continued into this one and I for one do not think he would have been able to dig us out of that hole thus time.

Sam walked into a mess not of his own making and has improved things immediately.

No excuse to not send the team out and absolutely smash Swansea. Our goal difference is still terrible and that needs to change. Get the game wrapped up within the hour then stick some fringe players on.
