Can you give me something in Emajor on that horn of yours, thanks.

My horn is famous throughout the world mate.
That was the point you were making wasn't it ?

Anyway, another game, another win.

There's likely a fair amount of "new manager" effect here, and we've rode our luck at times, but two or three weeks ago I had, for the first time for a long time, genuine concerns about our top flight survival, and, regardless of how much the turn in fortune is down to Allardyce, we've turned it round very nicely.

I'm sure as soon as we lose a couple of games in which we play poorly the knives will be out, but, at least for a little while ( this season and likely next ), Big Sam will do for me.

I actually look forward to the pressers now. Under Martinez and Koeman I lost all interest in the Manager interviews because of the levels of BS they spouted. At the least, there is nearly always some good entertainment value with a Big Sam interview :D

He's got absolutely no time for horse manure which is so refreshing. I never thought I'd say it but I'm actually loving Big Sam as our manager.

I tend to agree with you a little bit -I worry what will happen when we get safe - as the football is dire almost DM like - I am fed up of Sam, and punters taking praise for a record he claims for our 4-0 win over west ham it was Unsworths win - we kept a clean sheet before he took over Holgate and Kenny at the back have lifted our defence no end - great to be moving up the league, and winning - yes I can take that for a while , but my concern is what happens when we need to push on and win in style - can Sam do that??????

There's either a lot of wumming going on in this thread

Not from me mate, I honestly think Allardyce is underrated, and, if he didn't have the baggage of dodgy deals with him, more people would see him for what he is, a good, but not top-class, manager, who has a point to prove, so things may well work out in our favour.

I will admit to poking things with a stick occasionally on the Allardyce front, but that doesn't mean I don't rate him.

or there really is a genuine love in for Allardyce amongst our supporters.

No, I don't think there is, most supporters are just being pragmatic about the situation and are willing to give him a chance, and then judge for themselves. It's possible we may grow to love him though, but he'll have to earn that.

He may be a horror but I guess he's our horror now

Spot on, speak to most fans of clubs he's managed and I reckon they'd all agree with that !

The amount of polar opinions on here is laughable; you're either a devoted member of the Big Sam love in or you're disgusted that he's here.

Genuinely isn't there an acceptable in-between? You can actually recognise the changes he has made without wanting him here in the long term.

Yes the football isn't overly pretty, however it is effective at least because we're no longer leaking goals, we're scoring and actually getting results.

In addition, if you listen to his press conference then he's openly admitting that he was disappointed with our attacking play last night.

Whether that's a genuine desire to want to improve or a tactic to appease the fans, at least he's recognising the position that we're in.

So some of you simply need to chill... the football isn't exactly what we want but at least it has improved to an extent and we are getting points!

I used to laugh at other clubs who were once lesser than us at him being there manager and now he’s ours. It’s just bad mate ( how I feel with him at the club )
Yeah, tbh im very much in the same vein.....feel a little dirty but lets be honest here, We were all fearing the worst a month ago and whatever / whoever have changed that feeling at present...that "certain something" should at least be acknowledged.
Not sure how I'm feeling presently ....well except relieved. BFS probably isnt the manager on anyones lips, except relegation fodder EVER...but we were where we were and for now at least he deserves a tiddy bit of patience. It may not be pretty but we really need this league and BFS will keep us in it.

I wouldn’t get carried away just yet. Koeman and walsh’s disastrous summer window has left a large unbalanced squad, lacking in quality. If anyone had given us a top 10 finish two weeks ago, we would have snapped their hands off, as in my mind we were looking very much a relegation threatened team.

We don't do half measures in here mate.

How dare you come in here with your sensible views ?

Also factor in, will he be here past the Summer too ?
