I’m just pleased we can keep a clean sheet again.

People going on about us being lucky in this run of a few games will be the same ones moaning we never have any luck when things go against us.

Just try and enjoy not getting smashed like we were doing.

Well in Sam.

It's funny listening to some say that Allardyce probably doesn't want us to play the way we're playing at this moment, but he has no choice, when in all reality when he was at West Ham, Newcastle etc, the one thing the fans of those clubs seemed to always have a pop at him for was the type of negative footy he had them playing.

It will be interesting to see if he changes after playing a certain way all these years now he has cash to spend.

He’s had a fair old slice of fortune for us to still be unbeaten, and it’s not been pretty to watch, but it’s a damn sight more palatable than the end of Koenan’s reign and indeed Unsworth’s stint.

He's done so far exactly what we needed.
Could we stomach this for 2-3 years? Probably not. But the fact is we are on an upward trajectory heading for our par of 7th place. So he's done a very good job at steadying the ship which he should be praised for.

We shouldn't be guessing how he will do once the flair players are back / once January is over. None of us know.

Yep, I mentioned this yesterday to a few folk. He's a results man Sam and I'm not expecting us to look any different any time soon.

I actually avoided yesterday's game as I couldn't stomach watching a similar performance to the one against the rs so just got updates on here and was delighted to see we won a point. And that's what it will boil down to imo under Sam - results over performances is what it will be and if the majority of fans can live with that then I guess he will be here for quite a while yet.

Not knocking him either as it obviously works how he sets the team up but I'm not holding my breath that he can get us playing any differently either.

It's quite amusing to see the lack of ability by some posters to give credit where it's due and their need to find negatives to focus on after Allardyce has picked up 11 points from 15, with 2 tough fixtures against sides in the top 4, and after earning us our first away win in the league in 11 months.

After we got hammered 4-1 by Southampton, we had conceded 28 goals and hadn't kept a clean sheet in the league since the opening game..."Everton have now conceded 28 goals in the Premier League this season - their worst tally after 13 games since 1958-59." "Everton have now won only one of their last 12 matches in all competitions and remain 16th in the Premier League, two points above the relegation zone, while Southampton climb to 10th."

Allardyce comes in for the Huddersfield game and since then we have kept 3 clean sheets, and have gone from being close to the relegation places to having a 4 point gap ahead of 10th place. In his 5 games in charge, Everton have the best defence in the league. Quite a turnaround for this current team after conceding the most goals after 13 games in almost 60 years.

Goals conceded by the top 9 since he's been in charge: Everton 2, Man City 3, Chelsea 3, Burnley 4, Liverpool 5, Man United 6, Spurs 6, Arsenal 7, Leicester 8.

He's Moyes mk 2.0 (as @orly mentioned) all over again mate.

Every team seems to have a lot of fans upset with their manager for some reason or another. Only city and spurs seem to have the vast majority happy with their manager. We have a man in charge doing exactly what we needed and long may it continue. Give the man a chance to sign a couple and get the injured players back, only then can you make a fair judgement! Happy Christmas fellow blues, here's hoping for some boxing day cheer:cheers:

So many 'entitled' fans who want to play 'pretty football'.

Or so many fans who just don't like Allardyce...

or perhaps they just done understand that teams spending 1billion pounds more than you require different tactics.

Words fail me.

Words never fail you, Zat ;)

He had Bolton in fifth. It's not that laughable really.

In fact, Bolton finished the season in sixth place.

yes, but your previous email was like 'he never got near fifth, he was always sixth like it was some significant hurdle he had failed at, when in fact he completed the whole season bar 2 games and had them in fifth

It's still laughable to suggest that Sam - with our resources and his tactics - could take us from no shots on target yesterday to rival the Top Six next season and win a place in the Champions League.
