Was not enthusiastic at his signing and, bar a period at the start of one West Ham season, I haven’t historically got much enjoyment out of the football his teams have served on a level other than trolling their opponents (Mourinho’s 19th century meltdown a particular highpoint).

But he has done wonders with our defensive solidity and he hasn’t hesitated in using the kids from the academy which is an important issue for me so Allardyce is significantly outperforming my expectations of him to date.

Hello mate..Sunderland fan here..the first thing he did when he took over us was sort the defence out..same players just moulded them into a unit..had a good transfer window (hopefully he will for yous) and we finished the season well..sometimes the footballs not pretty but you can't have everything.

Imagine where we'd be if we'd shelled out the £20m and got the greatest manager ever to grace the game in Marco Silva who almost kept Hull up but didn't. We'd literally be West Brom hahahahahahahaha.

Allardyce's style can only take us so far.

It is laughable to suggest that it could possibly take us into the Champions League.

How many points do we have on this unbeaten run?

I wonder how many we could have after the next two games...

With players having been devoid of confidence...

No Left back
No star striker
No real star players

If he can keep going down the Atletico Madrid route then its not exactly laughable to consider him emulating their success.

Two top 4 sides played and scored one and only conceded one goal thus far. At last we can defend and with two defensive midfileders, big Sam has the magic.

Now that survival looks ok, I hope Sam can test out players and systems.

For example, does anyone else think that Benni would work well alongside Vlavic ?

I think that was a decent result. We kept a very good side scoreless, and we still remain unbeaten under Sam Allardyce. We have improved hugely since, we got smashed down at Southampton. So so far Big Sam has done an excellent job.
It was more than a decent result - it was a good result. Admittedly, the football wasn't attractive and yes it was nerve-racking for long periods.

However, we adhered to a game plan which clearly frustrated a very able Chelsea team who became incredibly frustrated by our doggedness.

Sam has mentioned that he's frustrated with our attacking play, or at least he's sensible enough to proclaim this, so he knows the expectations.

With players returning from injury and hopefully new additions in the transfer window, we should see an improvement in our attacking play.

If we'd had played this game one or two months ago then we'd have been torn a new one, so to take a dogged point is a huge positive.

Imagine Sam trying to play any other way. The man is a dinosaur. Get him out in the summer.
Like we did second half against Swansea?

Our worst matches have been against Chelsea and the S***e, otherwise we’ve tried to play football. It’s not been perfect which he has admitted, but he’s getting results and doing a great job and considering he hasn’t been here long the job he has done with that defense is pretty impressive, I think the attacking side will come...

I’m with Zat and I’m really enjoying the job Sam is doing
