Extraordinary luck, indeed.

But just for balance, why not mention the fact our top scorer and talisman cried off with illness at the last moment?

Go on....I dare you. Just to show those of us whom think you are pushing an agenda are wrong.

Pickford made three outstanding saves, Jagielka kicked off the line twice, and Williams headed against the bar.

So.....in ninety minutes of play, Chelsea only really threatened to score on five occasions (four really as the Jags double clearance was part of the same threat) despite them having 25 shots.

And as one of those shots was from our own player, a fellow can count on one hand the number of close shaves we faced from Chelsea players, if we don't use our thumb.

You confirm my suspicions that, just like at The Pit, despite being penned back for most the game, our goal was not threatened all that often.

We can't expect to escape from performances like that with a clean sheet very often.

No...we can't "expect" it.

But most of us would hope we could.......you appear to be just hoping Sam's run will come to an end sooner rather than later just so you can start saying "I told you so" :p
If they had Morata we would have been in trouble.

I assumed that Rooney was doing Community Payback, but it appears that a virus had struck the first team squad.

We've got five games in fourteen days - so Allardyce will have to rotate his squad. The question is; when will he play his strongest teams - against Chelsea and Manchester United or against West Brom and Bournemouth? Allardyce carefully calculates which matches are most likely to yield points, so I think that I can guess the answer to this.

And how will he regard the cup tie at Anfield - as our only chance of winning a trophy or as a distraction from Premier League safety? Will the Christmas and New Year programme impose a greater load on our squad or on Liverpool's? As Liverpool played Arsenal on Friday night, they will have an extra day's rest. My guess is that Liverpool's team will be fresher than ours, and that Klopp will be playing to win.

Jesus christ. If you're arguing any plan that was badly executed is a bad plan then you've basically ruled out everything.

Method is the way you approach something.. or the method in how you try to achieve a goal or target etc.

I don't see how not practising defending and lowering the fitness levels of professional sports people is a good method to be honest. He had a vsision of us playing like Barca but his methods were bizarre

We really were taking in some very heavy and embarrassing defeats, under both Koeman and Unsy. But we have played 6 games in the Allardyce era.5 league games and 1 europa league game.Granted Craig Shakespeare took the team for the european game, but i'll include it anyway. But in 6 games with Big Sam, we have kept 4 clean sheets.

Before Big Sams arrival teams were putting 4 and 5 goals past us.Since Big Sam arrived, we haven't conceded more than one goal in a game. The basis for success in football is in having a solid defence. So all credit to Big Sam i think for the job he has done, considering that he has only been here, since the end of November.

It is their only realistic chance of silverware and due to the backlash he received for leaving out coutinho and firmino, I’m expecting him to pick his strongest side.

Like Allardyce, Klopp will have to rotate his squad through the Christmas/New Year programme. League points are important to him too. How many players will he be willing to rest against Burnley in order to save them for the cup?

There may be injuries and suspensions too. It's difficult to predict who will play for either side in the cup tie just yet.
