Don't you enjoy an average of 2 pts per game lol

How good do you think our squad is?

I think
Pickford
Coleman/Kenny
Holgate/Keane
Gana/Rooney

Are all very good players but the rest need experience or aren't good enough.
I'd sell that lot and hang on to Roo.

Why are people guessing the future? No one knows what will happen so why wish him failure? I like his straight forward ness and clarity. Why do people want him to fail? It’s mental. He’s a character, English, respected, not Klopp or Jose, hard as nails, funny and the players seem to love him. Nope, he’s rubbish, ignore player and expert comment, let’s get rid and get Miguel SpanishitalianPolesequez. Must be good, got runner up in Portugal.
Like what eggyblue has stated further down, what has nationality got to do with managing a football team.

What I will say is the English managed teams are towards the bottom of the prem.

I have usually been excited when we have got new managers, like Martinez and Koeman. Unfortunately none has achieved what they promised to the fans. With Allardyce I have no expectations at all. There is nothing on his CV that excites me. Because of lack of expectations, maybe this man can give us trophies? Give him next season and the verdict will come

He will be here till end of season no longer. His job will be done and his pockets filled. Oh wait he takes bungs.... probably no room

Fat crook

I think I may have just about figured out why you don't want Allardyce at the club. It's nothing to do with his managerial abilities, is it?
You don't like him as a person. Pathetic tbh. Personality, soap opera whinging football fans, that's all this is.

1. He has never been arrested, investigated criminally, questioned under caution or convicted of any fraudulent or criminal behaviour. If there was any real, tangible evidence against him, not just speculation, he would have been.
2. He never took any extra money when in the England job. He even said he'd have to check with the FA first.
3. He said he knows there are ways around the rules. Questionable morally perhaps, but I'm more than happy with someone who will find every extra little bit to gain an edge being our manager.

So now that it's clear that you have a personal problem with him, I assume you don't support some of our current players either?
- Rooney has just been convicted of drink driving, and has been banging grannies and slappers
- Gibson was a drink driver, and awful professional
- Pienaar was questioned for slapping his missus
- Duncan Ferguson regularly assaulted people on the football pitch

I imagine if one went to the vaults, they would find nothing but your full condemnation of these players?

Honestly lads, I'd have a lot more respect for your opinions if you just stated it was because he is a fat brummie who loves to talk himself up, rather than cherry pick small points to suit your argument.

...be it luck, be it bounce, be it both, the turnaround since Southampton away is extraordinary and we are now in a position only the most optimistic could have imagined. Allardyce has to be congratulated for that, I can’t see how anybody else could’ve got a better return with this group of players.

Now he has a platform, a bit of wiggle room to make us a better team with the football. Everybody wants us to be better in possession, to offer more threat and be more expansive. Allardyce has mentioned this in his post match interviews, let’s see if he can make this happen with a few new signings and players returning from injury. Given a top 10 finish, he’ll have done enough to suggest he’ll be in charge for at least another season.
The manager does need ti take a lot of credit for our turnaround, but we shouldnt underestimate the part that Unsy played in this too. He was the one who took over a side shattered of belief and confudence and at least got them working hard again. Eventually he came across a defensive unit and overall system that worked. One that Allardyce went with for the first 5 games or so.

When you look at his recird it has usually taken Alkardyce half a dozen games to get the players singing to his tune but even he was bemused how quickly he turned it round. That was because Unsy had akready done a lot of the dirty work.

I think it has little to do with it other than a foreign accent rather than his working class dour English might make him seem more intelligent . A bit more interesting to the football hipster and have him identified as a tactical mastermind taking us to an unbeaten run rather than a proponent of hoof ball as many are painting him .

..not so sure about that, Fred. I’m of the opinion the slide would’ve continued under Unsworth, i think Allardyce’s appointment and appearance in the stand against West Ham brought the required change from the players. Remember a few days earlier how dreadful Unsworth team was at Southampton. It doesn’t get any worst than that.

Keane has come out in the press saying how much better training is under Allardyce, he has got them organised, the players know what their jobs are and he’s injected confidence in them all.

No, you are totally missing the point.

We had not won away all year so why would we have at least expected to beat Newcastle away?

Its like our awful start to the season and our pish form away from home for 2017 didn't happen.

None of it is a miracle, he has however done a good job so far which is all that matters.

we were getting humped every week mate - we had no right to expect anything other than the same

When a team goes on a crap run it's usually one of two reasons. 1) the players are struggling with the level they are playing, or 2) the players are of sufficient standard but performances are under what is expected.

I'd say it's pretty obvious that in the case of EFC this season our issue is the second one. As such better coaching organisation was required rather than mass overhaul of the playing squad.

Given that, it is not bizarre to expect that set of players to eventually start performing under the new direction and take their usual place of beating dross. Things can, and do, change, bad runs are turned around constantly in football so expecting the same sub-standard pattern of results to continue is a bit of a folly. If we didn't think it would change there'd be no point changing managers.
