I don’t know how anyone can be surprised. Early season on Sky he gave his ‘blueprint’ and step one is fixing the defence. We’ve only conceded 2 goals in his tenure so far including a clean sheet against Chelsea (with Hazard, Morata, Pedro and Willian all playing a part) and a 1-1 draw at Anfield after the just scored something like 14 in two games!

Is it any wonder that we stopped pinching a goal or two in the two games where our only class forward minded player has been out? Rooney back in and a proper striker and we start turning these 0-0s back into 1-0 or 2-0.

Morata collected his fifth booking of the season just before Chelsea played here, apparently for celebrating the fact that his girl friend is pregnant.

So he was suspended for the match - another example of the good fortune we are enjoying.

This 'as good as it gets' shout, if this form is as good as it gets then we are a champions league side. Very ambitious shout.

It could have been any manager that is the point mate, the salient point was that they knew we actually now had a permanent manager who would decide their futures at the club
Which is why, despite whether you rate him or not, the club should have appointed Unsworth until the end of the season from the word go. It would have let everyone know where they stand. It's still your prerogative to dismiss him before then if it doesn't work out but its a firm decision and its clear what the position is.

But Newcastle/Liverpool/Chelsea/West Brom broke us down repeatedly.

They felt so sorry for us that they kept letting us off!

We have been incredibly lucky.

We'd be in the bottom 3 right now if Unsworth was our manager.
