There will be some bed wetting on here today, if it's a negative result.Lolzers at the anti Sam Allardyce brigade, for trying to make excuses for his early success as manager, of our beloved football club and institution.

Don't forget the -45 goal difference....
Sorry not just you but all the Unsworth knockers his points tally in the prem was okish , and his last game was a 4-0 win ....
I agree he was out of his depth a bit, but the football was an attempt to win a game - Sam has used two experienced coaches and has fetched us a bit of luck and confidence - the football has been dire!
Ok he has to move it on to be a better team - lets see.......

Team failing miserably after shambolic transfer window and looks set for a relegation battle. Fans genuinely fearing relegation. Manager is sacked after horrendous results and displays. New manager comes in and immediately sures up defence resulting in an unbeaten run including an away derby and Chelsea at home. Within the space of five weeks, team now looks like it can finish 8th+

Fans complain that football isn't expansive enough.

Joey, the RS and Chelsea would've bummed us in to next week. That Southampton game was my lowest ebb. I agree the footy has been dire, unquestionably, but we've stopped conceding, that's the main thing. We're half way through the season, and we've still not got a main striker. I'm amazed we've lasted as long as we have to be honest.
Massive window ahead, I'll judge him after that.

He inherits one of the worst front lines in the league yet fans complain that the attacking play isn’t good enough.

I just want to ask those who call him big fat Sam to leave out the fat bit. I don't know whether he's fat, or
not, he's certainly big and is commonly referred to by many as Big Sam.

Let's leave it at that.

I agree. body shaming is already a big problem in todays society. We don't need to add to it.

Yes i agreed with that we played dirge to get a point - the dirge cannot and will not continue under |Big Sam or any other |manager we fetch in the 18 months contract tells you that!
Unless he can get us to play football like shots on goal would help in the future give him time yes but he has to stop 8 at the back!!

This thread can basically be summed up by: some people hate Sam Allardyce and like being right on the internet MORE than they love Everton.

Previous managers have been allowed 2 seasons and 4 transfer windows before conclusive judgement was allowed to be passed. Allardyce was judged before he even came in. 8 games unbeaten, a ppg ratio akin of a top 4 team, best defence over this period yet some have written off every single good thing he’s done. Honestly it’s embarassing.

But Joey, two manager have proven this season, with this squad, trying to play football, we will get banged.
He's come in and somehow made our defence stop conceding. That was the number 1 priority, we all knew that.
Somehow we've got to a position of relative safety. We were in deep trouble without a doubt in my mind. And only after getting in a position of safety, we can try and play better football, something I very much doubt we can do with this squad in my humble opinion.
So on to the transfer window we go. Let's see who'll join, let's see how many balls up we make in negotiations. But only once we've got the players we need in vital positions, will I judge him.

He’s got no prem quality striker (let alone 2 or 3 like nearly all his peers). The midfield severely lacks pace and invention. All of his best players are/were injured (Barkley McCarthy Bolasie Funes Mori Coleman Baines Gueye), he’s come in mid season with confidence utterly shot and form wretched. Despite all this he’s 9th.

What do you reckon he could do with a fully fit squad of his players with a pre season behind him and a proper goal scorer up front?

Just for some perspective for the over entitled anti Sam brigade. The teams with comparable strike forces to us are: Swansea, Newcastle, West Brom, Brighton. You could even argue from that list that Bony Abraham Rondon and Rodriguez would get in our team no problem. Where are they in the table? We are massively ahead of where we should be because of what Sam has done. Niasse and Calvert Lewin whilst having merit is a worse strike force than the teams in the relegation zones yet people are moaning because our forward play isn’t fizzing yet. Grow up.
