That really was turgid football today. Actually, it wasnt even football. I watched it all and my eyes are still stinging.

Glad it was away game or might have gone to game, being up north for Xmas.

But, it was the players that were bad, not the manager. I lost count of the amount of stupid decisions, bad 'passes, wasted chances and general bad play all round.

We'e been boring but solid recently, with heroic defensive displays, but today was abysmal. Absolutely nothing good about anything (Maybe, just maybe Niasse was ok).

Honestly don't know what any manager can do with this combo of mis-matched unbalanced crappy old lot!

Forgot about Fonseca.

I honestly feel a bit for Sam at the minute. These players do my head in. No character between them if Rooney doesn’t play. And to an extent Williams. At least he shows a bit of passion, even if he’s limited.

But then he doesn’t help himself by picking weird teams. Like why play McCarthy today? I don’t get it. And not just because I hate him. He knew he’d only do 45 mins so that already one sub down.

If we have the ambition we claim to have then Sam won’t be here long. And that’s fine. He came in when we were desperate and he did some really really quick fixes. And I’ll give him some credit for that. But his limitations already seem to be on show. However, those wanting him out now are mental. It won’t happen so why even say it?

No. I don’t know what my point is.

I hate Everton.

Anti Football maybe ?

Niasse did great. Set up one goal with a beautiful flick, and also put a perfect pass over to Sigurdsson who managed to completely mess it up. Due to everybody else being pathetic, Niasse surely has to be first choice for a run in the side, right?

I feel like Niasse will forever be our super sub. I have this totally blinkered view now that he only works off the bench but that’s just how it feels. Still, wouldn’t do no harm to start him.

... particularly when the manager is saying DCL can't be relied on, Sandro is crap and we have nobody else bar Niasse. Hope he plays against United.

He's already talking about next season to try and preserve his job. It's a really scary thought to think he wont get replaced in the summer.

The issue now is how much do you back him in January and then potentially in the summer? There’s a clear argument that we need players in January anyway so needs must but do we really want him to have any potential “war chest” in the summer? Then when he eventually leaves we’re left with the remnants of Big Sam’s final squad for the next manager to overhaul. It’s a slippery slope if he isn’t moved on in the summer.

I'd give him a striker and a LB and nothing else if it were up to me as they are urgent. The rest can wait because his recruitment record is appalling. Especially with strikers which is a major concern. He ruins every squad he inherits inside 18 months.

Sam would have to do very well to ruin a squad as much as Koeman did, I still can't actually believe how much Koeman messed things up. As much as I don't like Sams style of football, it's not very good but he does have an idea of how to go about it, Koeman was totally clueless.

I do like to hear him talk , there is no BS like Martinez and Koeman both I would switch off at some stage in their interviews.
I agree like most I'm not too happy with our playing style at the moment, but I can't believe he's come in done it this way (which has got us much needed points) but expecting everyone to be happy going on this way. We are in dire need of a striker for a focal point, I think our creative players (if they can be called that at the moment) have lost faith in DCL up there, he just hasn't got enough about him and is simply not good enough. A player like Tosun (not that I know much about him) could well be exactly what we need atm.

Didn't he get an 18 month deal, if so why wouldn't he talk about next season. He come in and done what's expected of him, even though it seems to be anti football he's got the points to get us in a comfortable position, he's going to be here at least until the summer and I expect beyond that,so I think we should judge him in the summer. I do expect after the window for us to be much better. But only time will tell.
