I hope they'll have an idea on who may come in the summer, and a significant reason behind a director of football is continuity when managers come and go...
In theory absolutely. But if Sam brings in, say, Andy Carroll to play the hoof ball and Marco Silva comes in next Summer and wants to play another style, we have a problem.
Interesting to see what happens in January. Despite my thoughts on Sam, he either should have got more time or none at all.

We will probably pick up one or two in January, it won’t be supermarket sweep lashing anyone in the basket like last time out.

Honestly can't see it mate.

By the end of January we might be at 30 points - in fact, I expect us to be. We don't need Andy Carroll at that stage. I'm not even convinced Allardyce wanted Carroll by the end, he was a disaster with injuries.

I would however expect a big target man striker.

Carroll was just a hypothetical. The argument is that we can't surely allow him to spend big money, or bring in too many to suit his style of play if he is in fact only here a short time.

Last q and then end

Why doesn’t this apply to playeg t t?

Because the manager is one of the figure heads at the club mate, same as any large organisation.

You can get away with a wrongun or two on the staff ( players ), but having a wrongun as your boss man, reflects badly on the club.

Hence the 18mth contract.

He walks away happy, having trousered the majority of it despite only working for six months.

Oh definitely mate. I do think he is going to have controls (absolutely necessary too) put on him to stop the shenanigans he has been involved in previously. I'd be amazed if the CFO of BP comes in and just allows Allardyce and Walsh to crack on with their carve-ups. Plus according to Walsh Ryzanstev is going to be much more involved.

Things are changing. I hate this appointment and I loathe everything Walsh / Allardyce represent, but I can only have faith that those two plus Bill and Bob won't be at Everton at the start of next season, and if they aren't then that is a positive.
