Is it that different to other clubs was my point? Most clubs will post similar %age breakdowns.

Clearly we need more potency up there but stop playing defensively and this squad will more than likely post a very similar GF total to last season where we were (guessing) more dependent upon one man

No. Not different. But that's where we are. It just seems some think we're better than that

There were times today when bolasie was left wing back with Martina tucked in as a 4th centre back. We won the ball back and Niasse had nobody with 60 yards of him

And this is down to having crap players

Yeah, another thing having players default deep like Bolasie does is perpetuate the myth that the defenders are improving. They're not, they just have protection a couple of metres in front.

I see Allardyce is already saying the only solution is to spend rather than coach and improve.

Definitely needed all his mates on the coaching staff then.
I still can't understand wtf happened to Kelly and why we had to get a new GK coach in so quickly.

Also, you'd think summer would be a warning to Allardyce that flinging money around does not always help.

So the only option was Fat Sam because he’s such an adventurous miracle worker. Top managers look to win the ball back as quickly as possible in the opponents final 3rd, that can be trained into players.

What we’re doing is falling back into a block of 9 and praying we don’t concede

You mean the same thing Koeman wanted? Aggression, more tackles? Barkley needs to tackle more, Lukaku needs to work off the ball more...you mean that?

Then he builds a squad full of players who are the opposite of that? Who don't tackle (why do both managers like James McCarthy?) Who can't press (Unsworth wanted them to press like his u23 side).

Then it's quality on the ball. There is none.

So you expect a top manager to come in and implement that? With those players?

So only sam the miracle worker can stop teams conceding then. Guess why he’s had all those top clubs after him
Your list didn’t have Hodgson Dyche or Moyes in fairness mate, and your targets (foreginers with great hair and overcoats) are not a sure thing and very much a gamble, and as you say probably would not come - we are a mid table team this season no matter how you twist it after Koeman start.

He should be allowed to get a striker and LB and that is it. Preferably on loan. We have enough crap as it is without this fat beaut adding his dross.

You mean top coaches who have won things and managed top end players are a gamble over Sam Allardyce

Hahahaha

Did I say he's the only manager who can stop teams conceding?

No. I said he's here to steady the ship after an abysmal run of form which had us in a relegation scrap.

He's not the only one who can save us, but he can save us, and that'll do for now. I'd like to see us get someone else in at the end of the season, but the original point was whether it is fair to turn on him after 8 games.
