Agreed. Trouble is, whats the next step under Sam? Be interesting to see if he's given the money/support to bring the players in that he thinks will make a difference. And also, what style he adopts that will evidence signs of positive progress.
I think for now mid stable stability is the target - a dream albeit 6 weeks ago. He won’t be the mid term answer but many on here shout without logic. Perhaps Friday we should play on the halfway line and go at them with Niasse and DCL..

Hmmm. Something tells me you don't really think that will happen. Just a hunch I have.
It'll be more of the same until we're mathematically safe too. I'm already looking to next season.

You literally have no idea if that’s true or not. Just pure speculation because you wouldn’t know how they’d setup, how they’d utilise the players, if they’d be able to get anything out of certain players.

I'm all ears for arguments to say that some manager will get this current crop of players being better than they are.

Personally, I can't see it. So even going into replacing Big Sam, you're talking major surgery and spending

Go on then who is better right now for what we need? Fire a name at me.

Blanc, Tuchel, Enrique....

or in work who could be tempted by being one of Europe’s best paid managers at Everton

Fonseca, Mancini, Villas-Boas, Hasenhuttl, Jardim....

But of course, I know your response will be “they won’t come” or “they won’t save us like Fat Sam”

So the only option was Fat Sam because he’s such an adventurous miracle worker. Top managers look to win the ball back as quickly as possible in the opponents final 3rd, that can be trained into players.

What we’re doing is falling back into a block of 9 and praying we don’t concede

Is it that different to other clubs was my point? Most clubs will post similar %age breakdowns.

Clearly we need more potency up there but stop playing defensively and this squad will more than likely post a very similar GF total to last season where we were (guessing) more dependent upon one man
We have basically averaged a goal a game under Koeman and Allardyce. We were averaging 2 goals a game under Unsworth. So the team is capable of scoring, it just depends on how you want to play the game and getting the balance right between attack and defense.
