Well when other than Bolton which was when the league wasn’t as hard as it is now his career tells you the answer to that and why he must go.

I dont think when he has feet under the table he plays some bad stuff at all to be honest, Sunderaland and Palace were very entertaining if i am being honest.

My memory is murky on his Newcatle team. Blackburn i dont remember being dire and he made some clever signings there albeit within limits.

lol mate let’s just go backwards about now 20 years and be the nxt stoke. That’s what we will be mark my words

What has surprised me is that he seems to have made a bit of a mis-judgement over Christmas, for all I don't like the fella I thought he was smarter than that.

I was fully expecting the cup game to be sacrificed but the half hearted approach to yesterdays game seemed like he'd written that one off. If (and I'm presuming obviously) that was the case it makes the set-up in those two away games bonkers. Play the strongest side in those in pursuit of 6 points then take on the Mancs with whatever you have standing. I'm sure either directly or indirectly he'll have been told that approach wasn't right for Everton.

The other mistake for me over this period was the use of the squad. I don't think Klaassen, Lookman, Mirallas or Beni played a minute between them and whatever you think of them they should have been used more. I just wonder if he's feeling a bit of unexpected pressure?

Spot the heck on.

Those two games at Baggies and Bournemouth provided him with the perfect opportunity to put an ocean of clear blue water between us and the relegation zone plus make giant strides to get back on the coat tails of the top six.

We stood a mere six points behind Spurs a week or two ago.

It is quite bizarre that there was no attempt made to go out and actually win those games.

Especially with United and Spurs looming after them.

As things look now, an expected defeat at Spurs could see us back within four or five points of 18th place and the nagging worries will begin again.

I am amazed that anyone would try and defend his track record which is appalling and he will never change his style so get used to it. As for people backing him for a second season (or more), what in his very unsuccessful career gives an indicator that he will win anything, he NEVER has in 20 years. They hated him and his football at Newcastle and at West Ham they were booed off the pitch after they had WON a game. Yes we haven't played amazing stuff over many years but we still had some great victories and performances along the way to you know enjoy. His football may get steady results but will never be anything other than cautious, limited, dire [Poor language removed]. We cannot afford to back him in January because we know he is a short term manager and will buy for the here and now, the. When he is eventually sacked we will have more older players with zero resale value on long contracts, this is his standard blueprint. End of season then get shut, gives us the rest of this season to scout our next manger.

No mate we where in exactly 13th place when Allardyce took his first training session with the team, we where in 18th when Unsworth took his first game - 5 games later under him we where 5 points clear of 18th, 8 games under Allardyce has seen us move a only a further 3 points away from that bottom 3.

If we lose to Spurs away next up btw, we will be one of the worst form teams in the league - which for me is worrying that any bounce effect is gone

Ok, I got some stats wrong, but again, I'm not going to flap about this season as it finished for me a long time ago. Maintaining premier league status will be a success. In all seriousness, we would be complaining still whether SA or DU was in charge. Can't please everyone unfortunately.

We're not good enough for the top 6. Nowhere near it, no matter what manager we have. Just because I can see a snazzy Rolex in the shop window doesn't mean I can just have it. Nothing has changed for the season. Priority is still staying in the league.

Just so boring isn't it.

Really cannot be arsed going the game any more. I will, because it's what I do, but it's so depressing.

I don't find it bizarre. He doesn't trust our players to not get them out of a defensive set up. That's fine, but it makes for some horrible watching and a couple of gambles and we could have had 3 points instead of 1 and have shown some attacking potential that could be exploited over the rest of the season. It has in my mind put his (very slim) chances at staying in the job back by about 2 weeks, and he probably couldn't even afford that level of slippage to keep him employed (if he actually wants to stay that is). As it is, we've all got faces like slapped backsides and I for one, am rapidly losing interest in this season.

I still think that setting us up defensively is probably the sensible thing to do, but it's diabolical to watch, so I'll leave it to the masochists to enjoy. If he can't get some way to get Everton to offer up some attacking threat in the very near future, I'd even be tempted to bin him off before the end of the season if the club's long term target became available to give him a look at the players already here.

Well, here's the thing.

If we had beaten those two relegation haunted teams we would indeed have been quite "near" the top six....whether you think we are "good enough" or not.

As it is, we never even tried to beat them and now face a third consecutive defeat when we go to Spurs.
