Let me spell it out. Like-for-like refers to the opposition. That's what matters in this case. The quality and performance of players in each squad being measured is what we are trying to assess by looking at the statistic in the first place.

Again - and I can see this a bit beyond you - you have totally failed to show how Allardyce has improved us.

Stat after stat after stat is shown to you, but perhaps you simply can't understand it.

Oh, and Palace beat Chelsea at home, unlike us, which pulls the pink hose out and pisses aaaaaaaaaaalll over your terrible point.

Was a bit bored so I thought I'd look at some of our latest results.

0 shots on target today.
Wimbledon played at Wembley and had 4 shots on target
West Ham had a shot on target and a goal
Southampton had 6 shots on target and scored 2 goals
Brighton had 4 shots on target, 0 goals
Stoke had 3 shots on target, 1 goal

Played United previously in the league, 0 shots on target
Derby played them in the FA Cup, 2 shots on target
Southampton had 3 shots on target
Burnley, 2 shots on target with 2 goals
Leicester 2 goals target so min 2 shots
West Brom 5 shots on target, 1 goal

Bournemouth played before that, 1 shot on target, 1 goal
Played Wigan in FA Cup, 2 goals
Played Brighton, 8 shots on target, 2 goals scored
Played West Ham, 7 shots on target, 3 goals scored.
Played Man City, 1 shot on target

I think you can see the issue here. We have to be the worst attacking team in the league and maybe even the Championship.

A little bit of like-for-like there for our boy @Berenger , who seems to be having a little trouble processing basic information.

Imagine thinking nobody else could do this...which basically equated to beating 3 relegation threatened teams

Counting the days till his fat arse his back on the dole

Shameful for our club that this hoofball dinosaur is our manager

But.... but... like-for-like.....

Getting shown up for what he is, tactically inept dinosaur of a manager. We were lucky to get 3 points at Newcastle, definitely didn't deserve one against Liverpool, and were relieved to come away with a point at West Brom.

It's been glossed over because we initially jumped up the league but we are where we are because we've taken a massive backwards leap with his appointment.

The irony, coming from somebody who needs to process everything as binary. I'm not defending Allardyce. Never have been. But when I see half-arsed statistical analysis knocking around purporting to prove things one way or another -- like the terrible thing you just quoted to me -- I'll urge everyone to take it with a pinch of salt.

You are absolutely correct in what you have highlighted. This was the reason why everyone was absolutely right in thinking it was the wrong appointment in the first place. It's a real shame. It really is.
