Also I don't think he's even having a say in the transfers this window, he's being told who's being brought in and to fit them into the side

Simple fact is we haven't had a consistent message since Moyes left. Gone from one extreme in Martinez to the other in Allardyce in 18 months.

We aren't working towards anything, there is no plan.

We should have replaced Martinez with a competent version of Martinez and built up the scouting/analytics stuff away from the first team manager. But instead we got all that "strong leader" guff and wanted "an old school manager to whip them into shape". Well that doesn't work with millionaires on guaranteed money. They need inspirational/motivational/passionate types. Look at all the top managers in the game if you don't believe me.
That is why I always thought Favre would have been a much much better choice than Koeman. Counter attacking, fast paced but drilled at the back. Koeman literally changed everything about what Martinez brought in. Sure, there was quite a bit of crap out there but the point being that the idea was a good one, just implemented by a poor manager.

Still can't believe the question doesn't ever seem to have been asked to Koeman when they spoke with him about how he would want to play. "Long balls and crosses in to the middle for a grock".

Martinez got binned as the football went west, Koeman like wise. Sam will be no different stop kidding yourself.
Martinez got binned a year to late and should never have been the manager anyway. Yes they moved sooner on Koeman but should of never hired him. Why hire Big Sam and let him start to buy the players he wants in if they aren't at least open to keeping him. I hope you are right but what makes you think that our board will make a good decision in regards to this? It's not like they have been making good management decisions over the last few years.

The fans are getting restless mate, it’s january and the true FS colours are for all to see. there’s no way we will sit there and take this for another season no way.

Yeah I agree they will kick off but when they hired him I just couldn't believe it and thought that more fans would go nuts, but they hired him anyway and I just have this feeling that we will have him for next season.

This is only interesting if you take it as a proportion of total games played.

But yeah, it's a really important statistic. SACK!

So discontent can jeopardize future revenue By fans not wanting to go with this oaf as manager. I’m sure he’s
Not Everton manager nxt season

Are you deluded? The player we just bought was the one he tried to buy a year ago for palace, or is that a pure coincidence?

I agree with this for the most part, but the problems in the squad have been in the melting pot since even before the end of the Martinez 72 points season.

We have struggled more or less, bar last seasons 7th placed finish, in which we served up long winless runs and drab football, just not quite on such a pronounced basis.

Sam certainly isn't a long term answer. But he is contending with problems only a month in that have been in the ether for years. It's just more spectacularly bad this year. Chickens have come home to roost, largely thanks to the ineptitude and incompetence of others, noticably Walsh and Koeman, and Martinez before them.

Something stinks with this group of players, something is rotten with them.
It started to set it as soon as Moyes was on his way out. The players have been able to slide for a long time now. A bounce under the expansive Martinez, but neglect on the defensive side and it seems a recurrent theme at the moment. The players bottle it when they don't like what's happening.

A few senior pros from teams with winning mentalities, some young prospects and binning off the old sour core from the senior squad as it gets balanced out. This team has no fight in it, and if we don't have that, then we won't ever be able to build a platform to play. And Big Fat Sam ain't the man for the job I am afraid.

Until the new manager is sorted though, I expect this chancer to be swindling his half a million a month from us, as the board won't want to appear to be managerless for another 5 weeks. I fear this will also hurt our transfers in summer. More than player acquisition even, we need to be prioritising manager acquisition so that our new guy is in position to get new players in.

I despair Everton. I really do.

didn't read somewhere that we'd been looking at him last year

Be very quick for him to come in after only 2 months, get him scouted and bought in the first week of Jan
