It’s just going to be interesting to see how he tries to spin it. That has to not just be the aim, but the minimum expectation for this season.

Burnley and Leicester will not be spending anywhere near what we are.

If he gets us 7th it will be somewhat of a miracle when you look at us when he took over.

I can't see it to be honest and doubt it was the target he's been set (if he's even been set any).

Plus if the miracle happens and somehow we fluke 7th, it might mean we have to keep him.

That’s my worry, but Burnley are dropping like a stone now. I actually think Leicester are a pretty good team, so it’ll be between us and them.

7 points away from in now and we have two home games that we need to take maximum points from.

Do we even want it, though? That early start to the season has been marked as a factor to our poor league campaign.

I was a huge fan of Europa League until this season. Now i'm not so sure.

See how these next couple of games go, thing should look a lot more comfortable then and just see how high we can get.

But we are talking about a football team that never makes any chances, so really, we'll be lucky to finish top half!

So 7th and keep him or 9th and he’s gone??

He’s brought in two attacking players now for nearly £50m. We’ll soon see his credentials as a manager.

I was also a big fan of the Europa, I love going the games on Thursdays and then the pub after it, but the Thursday-Sunday takes it out of both the players and the fans. Nothing worse than Sunday afternoon football.

Let’s hope someone crap wins the FA Cup, so we can finish 7th and not get Europe! It actually happened to us when we finished 6th a few years ago.

Does anyone think he will still be here at start of next season ?

Once safety is guaranteed I would hope he does one
I think that if he gets us mid table at the end of the season. Around 9th he will stay. I don't want it but there are too many things happening that indicate this outcome. For example, building a team around his choices, moving in his coaching team. It is truely worrying times!!!!!

I think the fans are desperate to see some watchable football again, and Allardyce can't really give that to them. We haven't played much watchable football since Coleman went down, which should tell you that our priority in this window/summer should be bringing in a solid left back to help make up for the decline of Baines. Hopefully Coleman can come back strong as well.

Watchable? I want to win, don't care how that is achieved.
