Think that's a case of clutching at straws to prove a point mate. I was at that game and that was the end of what must have been a 30 pass move, when we just sat off them completely. Vlasic was ball watching for the final pass in behind but I've seen that and worse from all of our other players this season. Also we were guilty of missing 2 or 3 sitters before that goal went in, 2 of which I believe Vlasic had a key role in he build up.

Can't see how it would be an ongoing problem in training though, as he would be up against our own players, none of who are capable of that amount of movement.:)
They could have made 40 passes sideways and backwards but as you said it was him dozing that allowed the pass that led to the goal.Sadly where we stand points wise we aren't in the position to play him if he's a defensive liability no matter how much potential he shows going forwards.I know your far from an Allardyce fan but like it or not we need to keep things tight, clean sheets are what will keep us up.

That was the point. It's an extreme idea but one that could happen. It's nothing to do with their ability, i just think it's the wrong time to be starting to develop these players right this second.

Take DCL. The lads been thrown in the deep end but he's progressed and you can see him getting better. However, what if it got to the point where we turn on him and blame him for not scoring? The same thing with Lookman. He doesn't perform due to the pressure, what then?

It's just not the right environment at the moment imo
I wouldnt disagree re DCL, just going by some cimments on here. Same for JJ and Davies too. We have some potentially great kids here and I just feel as though they're being managed poorly at the moment. Some are getting too much and others not enough.

And I would ask why you're singling him out when there are loads if examples when every single other player who's worn an Everton shirt this season has done similar or worse.

If we treated them all the same as Vlasic we wouldnt be able to put a team out.

Kenny got absolute pelters at the start of the season. The Leicester game was one

None of us see training sessions so you'd have to assume that anyone who isn't getting a start isn't fitting the way of playing needed to succeed.

Someone on the RadioCity phone-in said he should be given an 18 month extension on his contract.

Nearly smashed the radio when I heard club lapdog, I mean, Graeme Sharp, agreeing with the mad man.

Did you miss the passing stats, we have a 100% record on passing back more than any other pl team

I think there is an argument about British and Foreign bosses. We don't really know how some British managers would do if they had a similar budget to the top tier clubs.

Ferguson didn't have to budget and was smashing the british transfer records many times, Rogers at Liverpool had a decent budget and almost won the league, Hughes had a bit of a budget at Man City but no time to do anything. I would like to see Mourihno, Pep, Conte etc at clubs like West Brom and Stoke and the likes to see if they could do much better. Wenger was a great success at Arsenal but the lay of the land was a bit different because Man Utd didn't have too much competition until he took over at Arsenal and when competition grew Wenger has found it tougher.

Most of the foreign managers have done well abroad where the buck went a bit further than here and anyone who learns the trade abroad is likely to land a plum job here at a club with a large budget. Look at Mourihno now spending £90m, £75m etc on players and he is still hassling the board for more money. It will never happen but would be interesting to see reversed roles.
Pochettino has done it the harder way but has still won nothing so I do believe we will never be able to judge a British manager until they are on par with budgets. It may be correct that they are lacking but it's difficult to call.
In defence of Ferguson who is without doubt the best this country has seen. He took one of the top five or six in England and turned them into the powerhouse they now are. He was not given fortunes to make that happen. He created it at just the right time. The fortunes followed. Their youth system was the backbone of what they became.

So on that basis, we need to climb 10 places in the league to pay for Theo Walcott. That should be a doddle;).

Or alternatively, we could just give Vlasic and Lookman more game time, develop them into better players than Theo has ever been, and trade the £20m we spent on Walcott for staying pretty much where we are in the league. Easy this football management.:)

In fairness, I'm not totally against Walcott. I think the squad will benefit from having him here as he's an upgrade on Lennon, Mirallas and probably Bolasie too. His pace and goalscoring will be most welcome.

Plus the lads Vlasic and Lookman are still only 20 and not ready to be starting week in week out in the premier. But what they do need is more game time, and at least one of them should be getting a minimum a 20 mins off the bench every game plus starting the odd game against the lesser teams (beginning with WBA at home this week). You just know it won't happen though.

And those comments from Allardyce?. Exactly the sort of thing I expected to hear from the guy when we appointed him. The longer he stays the further back we'll go with him.
I am now on a suicide mission...here goes. Lookman is, I think another Lennon. Excellent until the final ball. Brain never as quick as his feet. A problem with loads of fast players. I doubt he will ever be that good?
