I think West Brom have a chance. We're not creating much and Walcott will need a game or two to bed in. Wouldn't be surprised at a draw.

West Brom will just do what we did to them dave, park the bus and hope to nick one. Being the home side you would think the onus would be on us to get at them, I actually think Allardyce will approach it quite defensively (3 holding midfielders) because it will all be about not getting beat.

I've a feeling Moshiri has watched enough football to have realised what the Allardyce brand of hoofball looks like before he approached him.Keeping us in the Prem at least until a new stadium is built would be the smart business move.

If any of the decision makers at our club actually think that....that would actually be one of the most depressing things ever....your talking possibly another 4/5 years.....our goal now should be much higher than just staying in the Prem

Can't stand anti football managers like him , Pulis , Benitez , Mourinho etc.

Get us to 40 points and then walk away with a big fat wedge and everyone's happy.

Bg day for Allardyce and Everton. Draw or lose this and the situation starts looking very bleak again.

I popped someting on twitter this week, we are almost identical to where we were in 1998 and 1999 regarding points after this stage. We are significantly behind where we were in 1997. In 97 we stayed up by 2 points, and in the other two seasons we dropped into the relegation zone late into the season and got quite fortunate to survive.

We can have no room for complacency. A win today is very important.

Disgrace (again) if so.

He's just spent £40M on attacking players. I'm expecting more than a couple of shots on target today.

Last few weeks have seen a terrible loss in defensive form and the Allardyce bounce has been lost. If signing two attackers cant halt that we are in a load of trouble.

My concern is he has underestimated the structural problems we have. His initial results on the defensive side were incredibly positive and he must have thought he cracked it. Whats been shown is that once we have tinkered we have slowly started to regress to mean. Imagine swinging a golf club as hard as you can and just catching a ball perfectly. It's very hard to replicate that over a longer period of time.

Our best partnership looks to be with Holgate/Williams/Martina who seem a long way from our best players in those positions individually. We also have a problem with Gana for me, he is our bets midfield player, but can't seem to get a partnership going. Our best partnership in there (for me) was McCarthy and Schneiderlin against Liverpool.

He should have spent that £40M just spent on defenders who can do more than stop the ball and punt it. That's where are attacking limitations have their source. Yes we needed an attacker in, but we should have ben more creative with what he had regardless of the Tuson and Walcott signings. And the defence looks likely to be ignored in this window.

both signings are very good value. We needed a striker as an urgent, and we couldn't let the opportunity to get Walcott go by. transfer wise things have been good this window. there is no need to sign defenders with the same urgency as a striker, and what, were people expecting a figure significantly north of £50m in the Jan window?

I think the issue is mate we have problems all over the pitch and arguable solutions to all. I mean Holgate is good at that and alongside him Keane (and even Mori) are decent enough on the ball aren't they? Yet both Keane and Mori (and to a degree Holgate) still have question marks over them.

We seem to have a squadful of guys like that really. Williams looks awful but was solid alongside Holgate. Jagielka is brilliant an Anfield but goes missing at Wembley. We have this across the squad to me.

Can't understand the Big Sam hate. People going mad for the bloke at Watford - a one season failure - and some foreign bloke from Germany
who would probably take 18 months to get going.

Sam has bought a good no 9 and as good as signing as EFC can expect - no Abouymang is not going to join us! He has got a pacy goal scoring winger - not my cup of tea - but at least there's some logic in getting Walcott. He's got us up the league a bit but we still are poor and that's not going to be a quick fix.

Sam is an old fox and I would have him as much as anyone.

And he’s also amounted to nothing in his 20 year career and plays ultra defensive hoofball.

Like everything else, football evolves and the so called German will go on to win more medals than Fat Sam can ever imagine.

But why would we want that, we’re only the little old Everton. Sack off all ambition, we’ll just accept second rate managers and players
