I didn't mind the starting team. Sure it was negative but had we come out of it with a point I'd be saying job done.
The problem was, within 2 mins you could see that we had no game plan to stop Arsenal. Instead we just threw a load of defensive players on the pitch. The two in midfield were swarmed meaning Arsenal at ease go to the edge of our box. Where they are their most dangerous. It didn't matter we had 5 people there, it's Arsenal.
Throw in the fact that our 5 defenders were utterly confused and you've got a 5-1 thrashing.
Really poor from Sam.

It was no real difference to the 5-2 at home under Koeman (which I felt was a worse performance).

The guys a complete whopper puts it all on the players after making 7 changes and a new formation then admits he hadn’t worked on the team and the way it was going to play!
Blaming the players will only turn them against him, same as it did with Martinez and Koeman. These players have form. Recent form.

All he had to do was say "I got it wrong. I wanted to try a different system but haven't had a chance to work on it long enough in training, and in hindsight I made a mistake. But I still expected more from my players and I'm disappointed at the commitment and leadership they showed in the first half".

Nobody could argue with that, not even the players. Even fans like me who hate him would have said, fair do's. But all he'll do after that presser is turn these players more against him. We all know the consequence of that.

He has to go now, this minute, before he does indeed drag us into a real relegation battle.

For all you Big Sam apologist's.
Just watch the first 20 minutes , right from the whistle every outfield player looked like they had no idea about how this (Swansea's) sytem worked. It looked like a miss matched schoolboy game.
Make no mistake these players were beaten before they kicked a ball . Arsenal totally flooded the midfield and our players were put in a system that played right into Arsenals hands , they couldnt believe their luck.
Our best players sat squirming on bench in disbelief , they must cringe when this buffoon of a manager explains to them they are being left out "cos he has a plan"
This man then has the audacity to come on TV and totally blame the players and not a word about if he got anything wrong.
Just get to 40 pts and show this blaggard the door , one of the worst appointments ever made by this club.
It’s no wonder they didn’t know what they were doing. You can’t make that many changes in players/formation then expect the players to pick it up in a few days by watching videos. Then he has the temerity to blame the players. Guy’s an idiot!

But again, there's no real need for that as he's not sinking the ship. We're just awful against any good team in the top 6/7 and we've only lost 1 game to any side at our level (Bournemouth who are now above us).

I appreciate that, which I said there's no footballing basis for it. We won't achieve any more or less of note this season whether he's here or not.

It'd be more of a gesture from Moshiri than a strategic move to improve performance, but I'd appreciate it.

We would have done better with 4 5 1 if we really want to park the bus. Crowd out the midfield and win the ball higher up the pitch and launch counterattack with lesser passing distance towards goal!

No manager in the entire premiere league plays 5 defender with 2 defensive midfielder except Sam! Tactical genius? I called it tactical retard!

Exactly mate that’s just what he should have done. That result and performance is 80/90% on him and if he had any integrity he’d have accepted that he was the main problem.

Positive to see Garbutt traveling with the squad although apparently not left footed nor good enough according to our footballing wizard genious that is Allardyce aka Fred Flintstone

Exactly. An extra man in midfkeld. Put pressure on Xhaka etc. Play with a slightly higher defence and keep them away from our box.
Nah. Let them swarm to our box and play one twos around Ashley Williams.
5-1.

To be fair he did say we were far too attacking in that spell when we barely registered a shot on target.

I would be the 1st to pick hole's in any player having a bad game , but not today . It was like lambs to the slaughter and I genuinely felt sorry for them.
Williams Cuco & Bolasie were terrible today , they have been that way all season but he keeps picking them. Embarrasing.

I have no doubt in my mind he sacrificed both the Spurs and Arsenal games and set up for a one or two goal loss in each.

He's targeting the home games against teams below us and around us. He'll see 40+ points as the objective and he wont care about much else. As Big Sam says: "I've never relegated a club yet".

Job done and either retire on that or wait for the next mugs to give him a job.

I said when he arrived he's one of the most cynical characters in football. Here it is large as life today.
