The away end were particularly unhappy with the decision to take off goalscorer Cenk Tosun and later Gylfi Sigurdsson, who was the Blues’ best performer on the day.

The Everton boss, though, says it won’t make any difference to his approach and has vowed to win over the Goodison faithful.

“It’s not nice, it’s not what you want to hear, but you’ve got to accept the responsibility when you’re the No 1, you take the good, the bad and the ugly with it,” said Allardyce. “Whatever comes your way, you have to deal with it.

“I can’t let it affect me either way, whether they cheer my name or boo my name.

“I mean, I’ve been around long enough to know it comes your way sometimes. You have to be big enough to ride it out.

“The only people who can change the fans on what they think and what they say are the players on the field. They have to go out and perform to a level and win football matches and bring everybody back onside.”

Allardyce added: “I have a responsibility to try and make the team play better and make the fans cheer us, not boo us.

“At the end of the day, we all have a responsibility that we are employed by Everton Football Club with passionate fans who want to see better performances and better results away from home.

“I am trying all I can to achieve that. The players give everything. I don’t think there’s any question about that, but it was misdirected in the second half. That was the disappointing thing.

“I don’t think we should have put ourselves under pressure, particularly with the experienced players we had out there.”

The Blues have won only one of their last 23 away Premier League games – the 1-0 triumph at Newcastle United in December – and Allardyce believes a failure to capitalise on first-half chances was their undoing at the weekend, rather than their poor defending for both Burnley goals.

“We have got away form which has slipped into diversity again,” he said. “It’s the same as it has been for a long time.

“As I said in my press conference on Friday, we only won two games in 2017. I won one of those. And in 2016-17 overall, we only won seven games. So it’s still a problem and I thought we were going to overcome that problem today.

“While I will talk about the two goals we’ve conceded, there’s a bigger responsibility today on the front end not getting us 2-0 up. I would be a bit more critical about those chances missed than the guys who let them in. Clearly we should have done better on both goals, but we should have been got our noses in front farther.

“I can’t give Gylfi a lot of stick for the one he missed because he did brilliantly to create that chance. But clear-cut chances at this level can’t afford to be missed. I think we’ve let Burnley off the hook today.”

Thing with sam the way he goes on about his stats etc,he has only got us 2 more points above the relegation [now 7above,was 5]than when he took over, and 2 places higher up,[now 11th,was 13th],in 4 months nearly, yet all he goes on about is how good his home record is,when we have been pretty good at home the last few years-yet blames everyone else for the away record when hes the boss who should try and change it and do something.

We have the 3rd Easiest run in as well, it should be said.

We will be fine. Allardyce is a disgrace, but he’s come here and done what he was paid to do. This season just needs to end, so we can move on from this mess.

but you’ve got to accept the responsibility when you’re the No 1, you take the good, the bad and the ugly with it
Very noble...but then...
“The only people who can change the fans on what they think and what they say are the players on the field. They have to go out and perform to a level and win football matches and bring everybody back onside.”
But the players on the field are put out there by you & follow your instructions...
I can’t give Gylfi a lot of stick for the one he missed because he did brilliantly to create that chance. But clear-cut chances at this level can’t afford to be missed.
Backhanded compliment if ever I heard one.

"I won one of those" go away

I agree sacking him now may destabilise us for the few results we still need. But he really is just scraping us safe when we were virtually safe a few weeks into his arrival, he has conspired us back into a battle with his poor management and negative mindset. He is the worst manager I have ever seen at this club.

This.

With bells on.

After the ugly draws with Chelsea and the RS and the lucky win versus Barcodes relegation fears had been banishe£ and we were all looking forward to a strong second half of the season to take us back up to last season’s finishing position.

Then came Baggies and Bournemouth in four days and we have been on the back foot ever since.

He has talked us into this mess with his constant droning on and on about how relegation was still a possibility.

He has played us into this mess with his negative tactics against the dross and by writing off games against the top teams.

He has not “saved” us...he has imperilled us.

Exactly, a good manager would have had us finishing 6th this season if they were appointed instead of bfs

Koeman was an abject failure at at least half of the clubs he managed. It was the reason a sizable percentage of this board had grave concerns.

Resigned from Ajax following a shocking season.

3rd in a 3 horse race in Portugal with benfica. Left to join psv.

Scraped to the title at psv despite losing a massive point lead and it going down to the last day of the season.

An absolute disaster at Valencia. Sacked.

Sacked after 16 games at AZ.

Half decent at feynoord and then Southampton.

Utterly destroyed us and wasted an absolute mint on utter dross.

I utterly detest the man and he is the main reason we are so poor just now. It'll take a number of years to recover from this prick.

The next appointment has to be properly researched and scouted. Not just some guy who has had brief success and/or epl experience.

The other thing which , in hindsight , shows the lack of research and real thinking about this appointment is that I remember Moshiri and Kenwright talking about how they wanted someone with a high profile, to match Guardiola, Mourinho and Klopp in the north west...first get in the top 6 at least, then make those other 3 north west teams even think twice about you, and THEN see if they care if your manager is as high profile. For god's sake, what were they thinking? Any even unknown manager, if he had the skills, confidence and mental strength to manage in the premier league, with the expectations of expenditure and Everton would be ok against those 3 famous people. It seemed like this matches the rest of the 'Hollywood' style management we are now in, with Rooney, Mirallas and Schneiderlin's little scandals, Moshiri's Sky Sports interviews, and the Niasse, Allardyce, Lookman, Klassen, Sandro and Tosun singings...what's going on? Why can't it just be a simple straightforward process.

1) decide on and write up a football philosophy
2) write up the business plan
3) hire people who match the above
4) have a good PR and marketing plan
5) Everyone follows the company culture

I said earlier that since December 18th, we have only won 2 league games, drew one and lost the rest. With only 9 goals scored and 20 goals conceded. Those are the only stats that Sam Allardyce needs to concern himself about. His appointment was a massive mistake, by a club owner in a panic.Hopefully common sense prevails, and this buffoon will be binned first thing tomorrow morning.

I’m not even trying to defend him. I certainly don’t want him here beyond May. It’s important to keep his appointment in context though. He was brought in because we were terrible. We’re still terrible so he hasn’t done enough but it’s not all his fault. Sacking him will not solve all of our problems. It’ll appease the fans for a while though.

That's true Sam is not the only problem. The players have let him down as well. The same way they let down Martinez Koeman and Unsy.So yeah sacking him will not solve all our problems. But it would be a welcome start in the right direction.
