That and the snake oil pitch he did with Keys and Gray after the Leicester defeat. Everyone feared the worst after the Southampton game and we'd spent six weeks trying to get other targets like Silva and Fonseca.

Carragher is a flute but he was right on Monday night. Sam Allardyce is our Roy Hodgeson. A mistake appointment that nobody really wanted anyway. Soon to be a footnote in the club's history.
yep but just knowing he has our name on his CV sickens me

He's not going to say "I'm off in May" in a March press conference though. Moshiri will have probably said something to the effect of "things need to improve if you want to carry on" and let's be honest, they're not going to.

Even if things did improve wildly now I think it's too late. He's blown his chance. He's shown what the future would hold. Anti-football, arrogant press conferences and publicly criticising young players.

This bad run is good in the long term. We won't get lumbered with this con-man after a bounce which was a very real prospect before January.

Hope you’re right.

Everything about the situation points to what you’re saying but, after all, this is Everton and the incompetence shows no end at present.

Moshiri sacked Martinez and Koeman in better positions and at much greater financial cost.

Allardyce is a self promoter. He'll blag that he never got a proper chance here once he's gone. It's all bluster between now and the day he gets the hook.

absolutely. It was him on there giving his 7 steps to survival BS that got him this job in the first place.

The most frustrating thing is that it wasn't BS at the time. He came in and pretty much did what he set out to do within a month of being here.

Everton have shut their opponents out just once so far this season, and that single clean sheet came on the opening weekend in a 1-0 win over Stoke City.

That is the joint-worst record in the Premier League so far this season. Allardyce’s last employers Crystal Palace secured their first shut-out of campaign on Tuesday night to equal Everton’s tally.

Everton have also conceded more goals (28) than any other top-flight side, two more than the next worst defence - that of their opponents on Wednesday night, West Ham United

He came in, and we then got 4 clean sheets in 6, conceded only 2 goals in 6 games, and took 12 points from 18.

From West Brom away onwards it has all fallen apart for him as he has proven that he finds it very hard to adapt to the situation he is in unless it is a rescue job. He came in and did what he does best - corrected the defensive failings and pretty much steered us to safety with positive results. As soon as he'd guided us towards the top half and it became apparent we could potentially get 7th with Burnley and Leicester stuttering, he has gone to pieces and tried his hardest to play down expectations, been cautious away from home as it's clearly the only way he knows how.

That isn't good enough for this club and 2 wins in 12 is disgrace and he has failed in earning time here beyond this season, and hopefully Moshiri will see that because we will not progress under a manager like him and he has now well and truly lost any support he had.

Proper back-tracked here didn't he!

"When the fans see the players not playing to the levels they come to expect they’re going to show their disapproval. We need to give them more to shout about, starting with this weekend. Every club’s fans have a lot of passion. The history of Everton is far greater than Newcastle or West Ham but every fan has passion.

Everton is completely different from them clubs but it was just a comparison. The ambition of Everton is greater but if you don’t entertain or play as well as they expect the fans show their disapproval. I have to reverse that and get everyone behind us. The fans have been fantastic since I’ve been here and helped the team to get a result. "
Someone's been told off by the media office.

Just watched the press conference.

He's spoken to Moshiri now when last time he was asked he said he's not spoken to him much. Now there's a complete swerve in manner and tone.

Now all of a sudden he's sat in a press conference talking up the club, the ambitions and expectations.

Now all of a sudden he's backtracking on the Newcastle/West Ham comments and saying 7th should be what we're aiming at.

Sounds as though the big microwave head has been given a bit of a shock after that little smug laugh in his post-match interview at Burnley. He must have an arse twitching like a rabbit's nose over his job this week.

I would love it if Moshiri sat down with that russian fella whos on board along with Sams contract and highlighted some proper snakey little clauses in it that says you won't be paid out, only money talks to BFS not ambition and by the sounds of it he's seen his arse and towing the line now

That`s been written for him by someone in the press dept of the club and he`s been told to say it.

It`s all starting to get a bit desperate for him now and I don`t feel the slightest bit sorry for him.

All he had to do was a show a bit of contrition and humility, but he just can`t bring himself to do it.

He disgusts me.

we need to step up the noise against him on Saturday, so the directors get the msg. cant see him going before the end of season, but when you hear him talking about the future, god, it cant be true, can it

He`s not arsed about his job mate, as he gets the same money, whether he stays or goes.

As others have mentioned, he wants to keep his media jobs sweet, with the World Cup coming up.

It`s obvious that he`s had a telling off though.
