Haven't had a chance to post my thoughts on Sam. I'll admit I voted No in the Sam Allardyce poll, but my reasoning was largely down to getting Sam or one of the other more sought after managers like Silva or Fonseca. That said, when it looked like we went back to him, I was on board pretty much thereafter. I think as fans, we should look at the postives he brings.

+ English - there isn't an English manager in the Top 7, and why isn't there? He'll be able to relate to most of these lads and get the message across. There are a lot of English players in our team. And with Moshiri, Everton aren't skint like they used to be, hopefully Allardyce gets to spend some money on players he wants.
+ Play-style - there was a 'short' period at Bolton where they were playing good football. True, some of it was dour, but he got results for an incredibly average squad. At the other premier league teams he was trying to beat relegation so I don't think you can really talk about style there.
+ Defence - Big Sam's substitutions were spot on on the weekend. Sure we would have liked to see Niasse run out with 15 minutes to go, but he brought Schneiderlin on (ok Schneiderlin has been terrible this season) a defensive mid, and Keane a defender to shut the game out. We all know in the prem mistakes get punished, and his subs made sure the defence had cover.

Big Sam had a bit of a pout, when he wasn't first choice for manager, but 6m a season can turn frowns upside down. There's still plenty of time in the season, but the Christmas period will really be key in whether they can have a tilt at Euro places.

That earpiece thing he uses looks like its from the late seventies. How on earth doesnt him and his team have something more modern?
Anyways, good game yesterday, I wouls have started Niasse over DCL, but other than that I liked what i saw.

Its your standard over ear. I prefer the in ear but some people don’t like the feel of them.

Ok, he’s our manager but the way these media football pundits are all over him is a bit sickening. The MoTD crew were on about how since Sam arrived we’ve gone two games without conceding, having totally ignored the fact that Unsy managed the WHU game, put Rooney in the deeper position and that Sam picked the exact same team for Huddersfield.

He reign begins now. Two more games in a week..........

And I just don't feel we've got anything to hurt them with on the break, set pieces aside.

We berate the Moyes derbies at Anfield and granted they were grim viewing but at least we were in the game. Since he left it's actually got even worse. Hopefully Allardyce can actually get us a foothold in the game.

Niasse mate, he's done it before to them playing for hull, and their cbs will have fits the way he charges down every ball.
