It was in no way meant as any form of compliment. It was a barbed dig about the rumours surrounding his age.
You think so ? I haven't seen the clip so i'm not 100%; I'm going off what he said in black and white txt. Surely it was just a simple comment that he is playing like he is in his mid 20's again.

By the way, coming from someone who absolutely despises Mark Lawrenson an unhealthy amount, I don't think his comments are worth getting upset over. I think the 'officially' line is maybe about the age rumours and maybe because of the following comment about him playing like a 26 year old but either way who cares? And the 'top, top club' comment means a European giant I think.

But ... But .... The whole media is ran by RS and everything they say and do is subliminally destroying the reputation of Everton the world over.

Somebody is going to claim Liverpool are the illuminati any day on here haha

For some reason I thought he was a tit his whole career, seemed really arrogant and selfish. So pleased to see him "get" Everton, and pleased to be wrong, a top guy as well as a world class forward.
Pretty much this. Arrogant was probably the wrong word to use but i know what you meant.

Everytime i've seen him in an Everton shirt, he does nothing but smile. Laughing with the ref, laughing with the players and he even thought hitting the post for his hat-trick was a laugh. He is just enjoying himself and enjoying the last couple of years of his career.

His contribution on the pitch has been top drawer so far but it's his contribution off the field that will make this signing truly world class in years to come.

I was made up to hear our fans chanting his name yesterday.

He's f'ing brilliant isn't he!

He even organises the defence at corners FFS! Samuel Eto'o, organising our defence at corners, where am I?

John Aldridge was on 5 live defending Mark Lawrensons comments on MOTD 2 before.

He also said " Eto'o playing for Everton is a tragic waste. Its like giving Kobe Beef to a tramp. They won't appreciate the class "

Dear god, how long is Aldo la going to get away with these comments

People love to be offended. Lawrenson's comments were off-the-cuff remarks. "Top, top club" clearly meant of Europe's very best, and if anything was a compliment given the fact we've got him and he wanted to come here.

All Liverpool pundits are a disgrace they hate anything positive about us.if its not Liverpool they don't wanna know and do everything to try belittle us.clearly its getting at them we have good players now that they would clearly have.

lol

how long have you been on here ffs

Exactly. If he was faster, he'd still be good enough for Barcelona. He's an incredible player and has the potential to be a Kanchelskis type signing (hopefully for longer)

Aldridge's comments aren't worth the oxygen he used making them. Bitter Kopite who is frustrated at how badly his own team are doing.
